I may be mistaken, but I think Bob Keselowski smacked the wall in turn 1 and flipped on its side. He was OK. Like I said, I know it was at 1-70, but I'm not sure if this was the right year. 3. Haywood posted: 07.26.2008 - 2:02 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) this was the very first NASCAR event i attended. i went with a group who was sponsoring Rick Beebe's #26 truck. i had never watched a race nor did i even know a thing about it. i'm glad i attended because this was a great race and i became hooked. i really like the trucks, and I-70 was probably my favorite short track in the country. i've been to I-70, IRP, talladega, kansas, and indy, and definitely haven't had more fun than we used to have at i-70. it was also neat that i got to be there for a somewhat historic truck event, being dodge's first win. 7. Haywood posted: 07.26.2008 - 2:09 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) oh yeah... weird story. so there was this tree house perched right outside speedway property next to the track in turn 1. the guys who owned the trailer/land next to the track would go up there and watch races for free with friends (and drink--a lot of beer). i'm not sure the history of this tree house or the property there. i do know that a friend of mine from school happened to be IN the tree during the race. anyway, one guy got reeeeeeeally hammered, and managed to fall to his death like probably a good 25-30 feet to the ground. i think he landed on his head/neck and pretty much died instantly. in 99 when i came back to this event, the land was no longer occupied and there was a new temporary grandstand that the speedway owned near that area. also, i don't think any trucks flipped during this race, but i 100% could be wrong. i just don't seem to remember seeing that. 8. IIRC Raines already had one and had a deal with car owner Kurt Roehrig to get him a Viper or something like that if he pulled it off which Kurt lived up to. I remember being quite surprised Raines of all drivers won Dodge's first race, he wasn't really having a good year until this year and even had a few DNQs. This was Tony's only win in the Ram, his other three wins came the next year at the wheel of a Ford F150. 9.
