12th. Grier Lackey's team had a one-race sponsorship from Food City for
this event which turned out to be their final race with Denton

This was the last race for Grier Lackey's #30 team, one of the Truck
series strongest teams when the series debuted in 1995

had just won their first Stanley Cup in 42 years two weeks earlier.

Watching video of the race now, looks like Doug George took a huge hit
on the backstretch on the 2nd caution of the race. He had to be carried
by rescue workers to the ambulance waiting in turn 3.

#12 Doug George- Power Rangers Turbo (Same for the previous race at
Texas where he also had Power Rangers sponsorship)

George hit the inside wall on the backstretch with enough force to pop
out the windshield. There was a notable fire at the front of the truck
as well but the safe crew was quick to respond when George didn't hop
out right away.

If Power Rangers seems like an odd NASCAR sponsor, the show's "Turbo"
season was sort of racing-themed which probably led to this two-race deal.

Greg Marlowe qualifies for his only Truck race of the 1997 season, among
four attempts, but turns in a solid top-15 run. This was his second and
final Truck series start.

Marlowe lost a lap early, but turned laps second only to the winner
later on. He could have easily earned a top five if the free pass had
been in effect.

Brad Teague's first ever truck race would ultimately be his best showing.
The 13th place run also remains the best finish by #91 in the series to
date.
