He'd take over as Liberty Motorsports main driver in 1998. Local Nashville driver Joe Buford also makes his Truck series debut 2. 83andJoe posted: 09.02.2013 - 9:37 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) #00 owner and make: Andy Campbell, Chevrolet 3. After winning rookie of the year in 96, Bryan Reffner was having a bad 2nd season. This race he qualified well and was running 3rd when they came in for the halfway break and on the pace laps to start the second half Tony Raines was scrubbing his tires and knocked Reffner into the wall hard enough to total Reffners truck and end his day. Right after that when it finally got under green, Kevin Harvick (not known at all at this time) inexplicably as a lap truck, started knocking Ron Hornaday, the leader, all over the place like he was trying to wreck him on purpose. It allowed Jack Sprague to pass him for the lead. It caused Hornaday to likely get angry and use his tires up to get back by Jack and helped one mile track Jack to finally win on a short track. Eli Gold and Buddy Baker were wondering what in the world was going on to start the second half of this race. Then during the caution laps after Tammy Jo Kirk spun, you caught somebody saying on the radio "Nascar better do something about that 75 truck. He's going to hurt someone." Harvick at this time was making his 12th start in the Truck series and never even had a lead lap finish yet in his career. Kevin must've been taking the controversial approach in order to get himself better known, lol. 10. Her truck here was still in the Lovable pink paint scheme, complete with the remains of the company's logo on the hood without lettering, and had been so hastily renumbered from its usual #7 to #07 the team didn't change the number on the back bumper to match the rest of the truck. Kirk had a mixed day as she got into a hairy situation when she spun in turn 4 then had the field race by her, splitting her truck on both sides in the scramble, as she tried to get back pointed in the right direction. Ron Hornaday, Jr. almost hit her but everyone made it past and Tammy Jo came back to finish a respectable 14th. 12. His 4th place here still holds as the best ever finish by the #35 in truck series history, sharing that mark with Ron Barfield Jr., who matched it at Loudon the next year. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
