They also list Rob Morgan as the #15, and Bobby Myers is not listed in any of the practice rundowns or the DNQ list, so he is still a mystery. 5. There's really no mystery as to why he didn't make the race. 6. 83andJoe posted: 06.24.2013 - 9:12 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) #50 crew chief: Randy Goss (same for all 1998 races except Disney). 7. 83andJoe posted: 06.24.2013 - 10:27 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) #88 crew chief: Gary Showalter (same for all 1998 races except Disney) 8. Sprague was the early truck to beat in his new white colored truck. However as the event entered the last 1/4, it was Rick Carelli and new surprising rookie Andy Houston who found themselves up front. After Rob Rizzo spun off turn 2 and clobbered the wall, leaders Carelli and Houston went to pit road under caution, but due to the reconfigurement and the access road's shorter distance, both Carelli and Houston inadvertently passed the pace truck heading to pit road. NASCAR established this was against the rules in the driver meeting and both were penalized a lap. This gave the lead to Barfield. To add insult to injury after a tremendous run for the rookie, Andy Houston passed 4 trucks under caution and was subsequently black flagged once more totally ruining a brilliant early career run. Carelli clearly was the fastest truck as he easily pulled away from Barfield, Crawford and Sprague on the restart and never looked back. However there was no caution to catch Carelli back up. Without Carelli to worry about, Crawford dispatched Barfield quite easily and also pulled to a few truck lenghts lead from Sprague who could not to any better and Crawford pulled to a great first victory 12. Norm Benning would draw even with that mark fifteen years later at Talladega. 14.
