The #2 truck was one of the best trucks in the series at the time and they had rotten luck all year leading up to this race. This race it all turned around for them as other trucks that were better and could've won the race had the bad luck. Jack Sprague had the best truck and after checking out on the field during the first green flag run, incurred a penalty during the first caution for passing the pace truck and lost a lap. That turned what likely would've been a dominant win (and a 4th championship instead of Hornaday being the all time leader) into a very interesting race. Other trucks that could've won but also had tough luck were Joe Ruttman, Stacy Compton and Jay Sauter. The third caution for debris was because a checkered flag was on the frontstretch. Eli Gold was making jokes about "little Timmy not having his toy to play with" and he and Buddy Baker were getting a good laugh about it. Turned out it was the actual checkered flag being caught by the wind and getting blown out of the flag stand. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
