To think that Sprague led the points most of the season but couldn't get a sponsor until this race is crazy. I guess that GMAC got their money's worth out of him though. 4. Losing the halftime break will be a major loss in Truck Series history. It was a huge part of the series' identity. 5. 83andJoe posted: 07.06.2013 - 5:06 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) #5 crew chief: Cal Northrop 6. 23andJoe posted: 03.10.2014 - 8:15 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) #42 sponsor: McCray Racing Chevrolet (Rick McCray) #82 sponsor: Rhino Linings USA Ford (Steve Lucore) #85 sponsor: Champion Wheel Ford (Milan Garrett) 7. I not sure but I think this is the record for most consecutive top 10's in NASCAR? 8. Skinner would not run another Truck race after this until mid-2003. Fellow Cup racer Ernie Irvan records the third of his fourth Truck series runner-up finishes. 9. Here a month later he tries to get back on track by making his Truck series debut doing a one-off in Ed Scherer's #57 Ford. This would turn out to be the first of just two Truck series starts for Hutter and his 22nd-place finish was his best finish. 10. Jack Sprague wins his 10th career Truck Series race becoming the 3rd driver to reach double digit career Truck wins, joining Skinner and Hornaday. @3 Yeah, surprising they couldn't get a sponsor because they led the points and that doesn't even mention the fact that they won the 1997 Series Championship, and it was Hendrick for goodness sakes. This was getting around the time where sponsorship was much easier to come by and Nascar was booming. There were some good teams that for some reason had trouble finding sponsors. A team that comes to mind was Diamond Ridge in the Busch Series had trouble and they had good Busch cars and they also could never keep a Cup team running due to sponsor issues. 14. They had to revert back to the halftime rules for a couple of races later in 1998 because the tracks didn't have a pit road area able to have live pit stops. Flemington and Louisville. 15. Each time, tying his own mark of best finish for the #28 in series history that still stands. He would again match the result in his other start that year at Richmond. 16.
