Sprague and Hornaday get together late in the race while racing for the lead sending Hornaday into the wall. Sprague won, but Hornaday ended up getting out of his truck and went to the pits of the #24 to confront say his piece. 2. The majority of the race was typical short track affair. Slipping and sliding and occasional spins and hard racing. But after the fluid on track caution at lap 150, things got really interesting in the last quarter. Relative unknown Lonnie Rush Jr decided to stay on old tires while everyone else got fresh tires and took a surprising lead. Rush lead a bit and battled with Hornaday and Sprague. Then things got as interesting as everyone remembers. Hornaday had Sprague to his inside into turn 1 and they made contact sending Hornaday into the outside wall. Hornaday came into his pits and got out of his truck to talk to Sprague's team. Tempers started flaring a bit but no punches were thrown. On the restart, Sprague fell behind Rush but Rush incredibly on old tires passed Sprague right back to the awe of the crowd and announcers, only to overdrive it into turn 1 on the next lap and slap the outside wall. This put Setzer, newly appointed driver of the Keselowski truck to Sprague's inside. Setzer gave it everything he had to try and pass but being pinched under Sprague in turn 1, Setzer spun out rather than spin out Sprague. He did a 360 and continued on his way; no caution. After Said spun in turn 3, there was a last restart to the race where Tony Roper also having an incredible run had a crack at Sprague but just didnt have the truck to pass him and Sprague went on to win to a shower of boo's from the apparent sold-out IRP crowd while he celebrated in victory lane. Sprague appeared to be happy but somewhat regretful stating this wasnt intentional and Hornaday didnt give him a lane but he felt it was tainted over the situation. 7. He'd turn in a solid run in the #61 IWX Motor Freight Chevy, leading the opening laps en route to a top-10. 8. In the years before this at IRP it was really a one groove track and pretty hard to pass, trucks or Busch cars. They were now able to run side by side around the track, and even 3 wide at times without it being an automatic wreck. 9.
