Back in the season opener there were 59 trucks to attempt, sending home 23 trucks and by this race, only 31 entered, leaving an open spot and no one went home The race itself was pretty standard for this style of short track, a dominant truck and a couple trucks that had chances to pass and a lot of sporadic hectic crashes in the pack that took out pretty strong trucks like Tolsma (who would probably love to forget this race), Hornaday, Ruttman among others. Rookie Scot Walters probably would have been a top 5 truck too. Even though he fell a lap down early he was always seeming to stay up with the leaders but never got that lap back Even though NASCAR ended the mid race breaks on most tracks, Louisville was such a short track that green flag or even caution flag pitstops would not be possible, so for this race the mid race break was re-implemented 3.
