The two do doughnuts on the infield grass, park next to each other, get out and high-five, then get back in their trucks and tear off through the grass again. 2. It's not always two guys that hate each other, it's two guys that constantly compete with each other for the same real estate, racing each other hard but clean. Dale Jr. and Matt Kenseth had a similar rivalry in the Busch Series (and I think they still do in Cup), but they are very good friends. 3. Also how come the Trucks & Cup were run on the same day? 11. ND posted: 09.27.2009 - 8:38 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Despite the ending this race was excruciatingly boring. I can count the number of times I've fallen asleep during a race on one hand. Since this season they have never run more than 25 races in a single season with 23 being par for the course as of 2016. 18. Ruttman's status in the series would be iffy at the start of 1999 but he would bounce back once he landed a new full-time ride. 19. Fittingly the combination that led to six wins saw Bliss led a good chunk of the race and finish solidly in the top-10 in its final ride. Bliss moved over to Roush for 1999 to replace Ruttman in the Exide #99 Ford. 20. pimmy posted: 03.14.2017 - 8:13 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Standings page corrections: 98 - Richard Hinds - 80 106 - Jason Roche - 68 108 - George Brunnhoelzl Jr. - 67 109 - Joe Madore - 65 111 - Brandon Butler - 58 112 - Robbie Pyle - 52 113 - Cindy Peterson - 52 114 - Greg Marlowe - 52 115 - Mike Hope - 46 116 - Mike Olsen - 43 117 - Michael Dokken - 41 118 - Ed Berrier - 40 119 - Freddie Query - 40 120 - Donny Ling Jr. - 40 121 - Ronnie Newman - 37 122 - Andy Michner - 34 123 - Rick Wilson - 34 124 - Austin Cameron - 31 125 - Billy Bigley Jr. - 28 126 - Kirk Shelmerdine - 25 127 - Brian Sockwell - 25 128 - Jerry Robertson - 25 129 - Tom Baldwin - 22 130 - Ricky Logan - 22 131 - Dave Goulet - 19 132 - Scott Lagasse - 19 133 - Dave Stacy - 16 134 - Jimmy Davis - 13 135 - Rick Johnson - 10 136 - Kelly Denton - 4 137 - Bobby Myers - 1 138 - Monty Kline - 1 21. Also the last truck race with 40 trucks in the starting grid, with it being the 5th ever race in the series to have a field that big. 24. Jimnsimforever posted: 05.10.2020 - 7:54 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Biffle would've won his first career race had that final caution not come out. He had an 11 second lead before the 3rd caution came out for debris. He still held on to the lead through the 4th caution as well, but the 5th and final one was too much. Jack Sprague passed him on the first lap but Biffle was fighting hard to keep the lead and get that first win and the two of them got together pretty hard. Biffle nearly wrecked because of it and would've had he not let off the gas to gather control of the truck back and Ron Hornaday and a couple other trucks got by him too by the time he got back up to speed. I can understand that Sprague was frustrated that he lost the title by 3 points after winning the race. It was a little silly though that he accused Greg Biffle of pulling over and letting Hornaday pass him to let him win the championship on purpose and promised payback at a later time. Biffle literally would've wrecked and possibly lost the Rookie of the Year battle to Andy Houston, which they were only seperated by 1 point in a very tight battle for that going into this race. 25. With NASCAR's new policy of a max field size of 40 in the immediate future, we could see this again sometime this year. 26. When Sprague beat Hornaday, he blew his doors off. 1996 Hornaday won by 53 points, 1998 he won by 3 after Sprague caught some unlucky breaks after leading the points for the majority of the season. 1997 Sprague wins the title by 232, and Hornaday finished a distant 5th, 395 points back. 1999 Sprague wins the title while Hornaday finishes in 7th, 259 points back. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
