Jimmy Hensley won, starting the Martinsville sweep for Petty Enterprises
that weekend.(John Andretti would win the Cup race.)

Also Rich Bickle makes his triumphant return to the series in a truck
painted like his Cup car, and loses an engine after just one lap.

The most memorable moment was Jimmy Hensley's celebration. He stopped on
the frontstretch, stood on the bed of the truck and made a "raise the
roof" gesture.

Yeah, I remember him doing some sort of crazy celebration. Couldn't
remember what though.

His last win in NASCAR competition.

Bobby Hamilton drove a Dodge in this race instead of the Chevy listed
here. Also, the DNQ for Ron Hoover should be for Ronnie Hoover.

Ernie Irvan makes his last start in the Craftsman Truck Series, driving
his own equipment as ever.

This was Ernie's only start in the #44 truck made famous by Boris Said
instead of his normal #28. Ernie scored eight top-10s, seven of which
were top-5s, in his 12 Truck series starts including his eighth here.

This was Hensley's second and final Truck series win. Both of his
victories in The King's Dodge Ram came on short tracks.

Joe Ruttman was the first driver to win a points-paying Truck Series
race in a Ford F-150. This race marked the end of Ruttman's days racing
with the Blue Oval brand as he turns in a top-15 doing a one-off in
Richie Wauters's #15 Ortho entry. Joe's 1999 season would become a bit
less hit and miss a few races later when he landed a full-time ride
replacing fellow original Truck Series regular Butch Miller in Bobby
Hamilton Racing's #18 DANA Dodge Ram.

Marty Reid, Benny Parsons and Kyle Petty were the commentators. Dave
Burns and Amy East were the pit road reporters.
