Finishing in the top ten and staying on the lead lap (of only 10 drivers) is a great accomplishment. 10. Powers had previously ran the 5 a few times so that one seems like it should definitely be changed from 55. 19. ericthenau posted: 07.07.2018 - 11:51 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) I found out that once again, the numbers that gary24fan initially put in for both Hamby and Ware for this race happen to be both correct and the official truck numbers they had when they both failed to qualify for this race. rm, I've also managed to view the entry list of this race as well, and found that Tom Powers was going to use a #55 truck after using the #5 for his three previous race attempts in the 2000 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season. It may have had something to do with Jim Smith entering his own #5 truck in two previous races of the season, including the race right before this one at Texas (where Tony Roper ended up losing his life from eventual fatal injuries received from a crash early in the race). I also found that Rick Ware used his own secondary #81 truck, as Donnie Neuenberger had driven the #51 truck in this race. Ware also crashed in practice and received injuries that would effectively prevent him from being able to complete a lap in qualifying for the race, and thus not qualify along with Powers and Mike Hamby. 20. Corey posted: 05.16.2020 - 8:18 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) @22 I remember a Biffle quote from that time addressing it in regards to him and Kurt. He said that Kurt was young enough that if Cup wasn't working, he could go back down to Xfinity and make another attempt. Greg however was older and couldn't afford to do that, so he went to Xfinity. 24. Rich posted: 09.19.2020 - 9:07 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Marty Reid and Benny Parsons were the commentators.
