Looking at the finishes of both the Busch race and the Cup race, this
was the most boring finish of the weekend. One trucklength!

@8 According to an interview (The same on you were probably referring
too) Varde had a license but the only track it didn't allow him to race
on was Darlington. Something he didn't realize till after he parked it.

2 crew chief - Marty Houston (Kohuth was mentioned as being the team
manager for Ultra Motorsports' Truck Series program, covering both
Leffler and Ted Musgrave)
36 crew chief - Walter Giles
57 crew chief - Patrick Wall

93 owner - Doc MacDonald (apparently Teri was working on putting
together a larger, multi-race deal but it ultimately never came to fruition)

8 sponsor - Honey Nut Cheerios/Dodge

Prior to this event, musician Nelly bought into Billy Ballew's team and
sponsored his trucks for the remainder of the 2003 season. No word on if
the agreement lasted any longer than that.

For the second straight race, David Starr brought out the first caution
- not an ideal start to a season. Luckily Starr was able to rebound to
finish 9th here after losing some sheetmetal early on from a flat tire.

Carl Edwards' strong run before overheating was a sign of things to come
at Darlington for him, as he ran very well at the track during his
career. A win would elude him until 2015, but he was always mixing it up
at the front of the field prior to that Southern 500 win.

Rick Allen, Dorsey Schroeder and Barry Dodson were the commentators. Ray
Dunlap and Phil Parsons were the pit road reporters.
