He qualified 30th and was weaving his way through traffic like it was nothing. In no time at he was knocking on the door of the top 10. He passed Terry Cook for 10th, and immediately after, Terry got into him and he spun, clobbering the wall backwards. Until then, he was by far the strongest truck. What might have been! Where would Tracy be now if he won in his first start, or even had a top 5. I think he'd have had a full time ride with Jim Smith in '04 instead of running mid-pack with Thorson. 3. The incident, which happened when both trucks were slowing down, forced Cook to pit earlier than he would have liked. That forced Cook to make 2 pit stops and be off sequence with the leaders. You could argue the lack of track position all day kept Cook from having a solid finish. Also Rick Crawford was chasing down Carl Edwards in the closing stages and with 10 laps to go Crawford ran out of gas. Earlier in the event, MRN Radio talked to Crawford for team and explained he was running Robert Yates engines and they should have 'plenty' of fuel left in the tank to chase down Edwards. Obviously there must have been a miscalculation. Jason Leffler inherited the second spot from Crawford but had a tire go down and that cost him a good finish as well. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
