Dennis Setzer, who led the most laps, decided to take only 2 tires on his final pit stop. Wood worked the back of Setzer for nearly 50 laps before finally getting past him. That left Wood to hold off teammate Carl Edwards for the win...which he easily handled. Notes: Edwards' pole was his first career. Wood had just announced they had lost Graham for President as sponsor. The car went into the race without details. Matt Carter made his NASCAR debut. The son of Travis Carter finished 17th. Matt McCall also made his debut. He finished 21st. 2. Miller4Prez6 posted: 05.05.2006 - 3:19 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Jon Wood's last Truck win, he is movin on up 3. It seems ironic, Wood's first win was the first race with Graham and his other win was the last race with them as the listed sponsor To date I think Graham is the only Presidential candiate to be a NASCAR sponsor as part of their campaign. 5. Kirk Shelmerdine ran some races in '04 with "Vote For Bush" as the sponsorship, but since he was one of the start-and-park drivers that year, I'm not sure that really counts... 6. He managed to score the win after working past the wrecked truck of Andy Petree, who crashed in turn 4 after the leaders took the white flag. Wayne Edwards originally did not time into the show, but he took over the #31 ride in place of a relatively unknown and little-heralded driver named Dallas Norman. Norman was a regular at Hickory and made just one lone attempt at going NASCAR racing, only to have his ride pulled out from under him.
