However, Rick Crawford's crew chief, Gene Nead made a strategy call allowing Rick Crawford to take the lead. Crawford was sailing away until a caution came out forcing a green-white-checkered. Despite the late drama, Crawford, who had just suffered a broken foot at Atlanta, cruised away and won his first race since the 2003 Daytona race. Notes: Jamie Caudill (#84 I Dig Pigs Ford) secured his best career finish of 19th, still holding to this day. Darrell Waltrip was running 6th, but got spun on the last lap. Hammond called shots from the pit box, while Larry McReynolds served as the spotter. Waltrip was openly wary about having Larry Mac spot for him, knowing that Larry was a part-owner of two trucks in the field, leading to some good-natured ribbing between the duo. 9.
