His son Bobby Hamilton Jr., driving a 4th BHR truck won his first career pole. Hamilton Jr. led most of the race (89 laps), and with the falling of the competition (David Reutimann and Bill Lester) it left Bobby vs. Bobby Jr. As Bobby Jr.'s car faded, Bobby blew past and increased his points lead as Dennis Setzer had a miserable day. Notes: Robert Huffman topped his best career finish with 8th. He would beat that later at Richmond. Hamilton Jr.'s 4th tied his best career finish back at Nashville in 2002. 2.
