Ted Musgrave and Dennis Setzer go the whole season without winning for the first time since they moved to the Trucks. 3. Not since Memphis last year has Bodine failed to finish a Truck race. Another win for Mark. In 2007 that 6 truck will have 2003 Champion Travis Kvapil behind the wheel! Good race for Brendan Gaughan (2nd), Bobby Hamilton Jr. (4th), Joe Nemechek (6th), Bill Lester (finished 11th after making contact with the inside wall!), and Casey Kingsland, who stayed out of trouble and earned a decent finish (28th). If anybody's wondering why Michel Jourdain Jr. was so far off the pace, he rear-ended another truck in the early crash which ended Chad Chaffin's day, and the contact probably butchered the aerodynamics on the truck. 4. I was glad he didn't have as much damage as Mike Spinner did when he hit the wall in nearly the exact same spot. 7. Great, respectable run for Nemechek in the Ginn sponsored truck. 12. RaceFanX posted: 04.29.2009 - 9:54 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Mark Martin's final victory in any series for Roush Racing. Martin had already decided not to move into the series full-time in 2007 as he originally planned but instead change teams and run part-time in Sprint Cup. He'd still run a partial schedule in the Trucks in 2007. Martin bookended the season by winning at both the Daytona opener and the Homestead finale. 19. RaceFanX posted: 12.02.2015 - 9:27 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Marcos Ambrose makes his final start in the Truck series. The newly-imported Aussie ran an almost full Truck schedule in 2006, his first season racing in the United States, but moved up to Busch series in 2007 and never raced the NASCAR pickups again. "Joe Nemechek's best career Truck finish in his last start to date." Not quite. He had a second at the Glen in 1996. He's also come back to run more races later in 2014. 20. Mannoroth posted: 09.27.2018 - 7:54 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) Mark Martin became the 3rd driver to win the first and the last race of the Truck season. And he was pretty close to win first two and the last two races of the season as well, but Johnny Benson, Jr. won the next to last race of the season at Phoenix. Mike Skinner and Joe Ruttman were the only other drivers before him to do it in 1995 and 1997, but they didn't have to worry about some superspeedway race. And in 2008, Todd Bodine also joined this club by winning both Daytona and Homestead. So Mark Martin is the only Cup driver to do it in Trucks. And no one has done it in the Xfinity Series, not even a Cup driver. 23. Danish_Pie posted: 06.06.2020 - 3:17 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Brendan Gaughan ends 2006 with his best finish of the year, a 2nd place run that was the best ever in the series for the #77 at the time. Gaughan would go on to match this mark twice the following year, and it would be matched two more times in 2014 by German Quiroga. @22 is no longer true of the Xfinity series, as eventual Champion Tyler Reddick would win the opener at Daytona and the finale at Homestead in 2018. Coincidentally his only two victories of the season. 24. Rich posted: 12.24.2020 - 10:50 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Rick Allen, Phil Parsons and Darrell Waltrip were the commentators.
