First career start for Indy 500 champ Dario Franchitti, short track
drivers, Chris Jones and Travis Dassow, and ARCA drivers Colin Braun and
Michael McDowell,

This would be Dario Franchitti's only Truck series start. With both
Dario and Jacques Villenueve in the same race this was the second time a
Truck race had two Indy 500 winners in the same field, something that
had only happened for the first time two races earlier at Vegas.

Travis Dassow ultimately made only two Truck starts, to date anyway,
with his 22nd-place finish here being his best in the series.

Chad Chaffin's 7th place remains tied as the best finish in series
history for the #40. Jeff Green would match the result with the number
the next year at Vegas.

Dario Franchitti is the first Scottish person to race a NASCAR Truck
Series event. He is one of the best open wheel racers ever
