Bell did to. Ron Hornaday Jr. wasn't helped by testosterone in this race. Ron was know as the King of restarts before taking testosterone. He stopped using testosterone in January 2006. Ron is taking Synthroid for Graves' Disease. He was misdiagnosed twice before February 2006. Ron isn't the only person to be misdiagnosed before for thyroid problems or the last. Synthroid is a type of a steroid, but it doesn't make a person more muscular. I know that first hand. I know people that take Synthroid, and they didn't look any different before taking it. They took it to treat their thyroid problems. Thyroid problems can happen without a person knowing it and a doctor isn't always able to pick it up or misdiagnosed. It happened to me. A lot of doctors are not completely knowledgeable with possible thyroid symptoms. No one should think testosterone caused him to wreck or win in future races. The medication he took up to January 2006 shouldn't be working right now. Hopefully people without thyroid problems understand how synthroid. A person can find more info on synthroid on http://www.synthroid.com/AboutSynthroid/HowSynthroidWorks.cfm or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synthroid 2. The crews needed to settle down; Starr didn't intentionally wreck anyone. I used to watch Starr in TIDA and when he had a good car, he would race hard but not purposely put anyone into the wall. He's just a competitive racer. He doesn't have a pattern of wrecking drivers in the Truck Series for spots. Germain Racing is a competitive team and still is, so it's kinda ridiculous that they would get so worked up about it. Hell, one of the Germain trucks will probably win next week. 3. arse posted: 09.14.2008 - 9:14 am Rate this comment: (1) (1) Kit, when you wreck THREE trucks in one race, you deserve to have a crew yelling in your face. My theory is if you get loose and have a vehicle on your outside, don't take them out. I know its a racing deal. When he wrecked Lia, I thought and still do thought it was instentional. It didn't look like he got loose there. 4. Baker posted: 09.14.2008 - 10:49 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) and Nascar screws Toyota yet again. Now that they have ordered ristrictions for the Toyota trucks now too the Toyota's can no long keep up with, you guess it, Nascar's little darlings the Chevy's. 5. Kit posted: 09.14.2008 - 3:09 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) arse, were you even watching the race? The pit crews weren't just yelling in his face, they were throwing punches. That's the kind of behavior I would expect from some trailer park dirt track racers, not from a championship truck series team. If Starr was intentionally running into the back of trucks and spinning them out, I can understand. But he wasn't; he was racing hard, maybe too hard, and as a result drivers who tried to pass him on the outside couldn't. You would think that maybe they would stop trying to pass him on the outside in turn 1. Where were the spotters for the Germain team? It's also hilarious that Todd Bodine would get that upset over it considering the mass amounts of wrecks he caused in the Cup Series. Bodine's wrecks in Cup were a result of him driving too hard in the corners. The Germain team is just being a bunch of crybabies. It's obvious that Starr wasn't intentionally trying to cause wrecks yet they still threw a fit over it. They threw a fit over a racing deal that happens in racing all the time. "My theory is if you get loose and have a vehicle on your outside, don't take them out." You've never raced before, have you? 6. They try to manufacture controversy at every step, and it is ridiculous. First of all, brute strength is not necessary to be successful in racing. All of the steroids in the world won't help your hand/eye coordination or your precision in feathering the throttle. Even if Ron had no good reason for taking the steroids it would not be a "performance enhancer". And most importantly, HE HAD A GOOD F***ING REASON FOR TAKING STEROIDS!! He had a serious medical issue that was causing him to lose weight rapidly. He went to the Palm Springs clinic and took WHAT THE DOCTOR ORDERED HIM TO TAKE. He didn't just say "Oh golly gee, think I'll just take some steroids". Ron Hornaday deserves a medal for the classiness he has shown this week. ESPN is seriously pissing me off with the way they are inventing controversy. Heck, look at Joey Logano. ESPN hypes and hypes and hypes this kid endlessly, then releases an article saying he is overhyped. Oh, and one other thing, their TV coverage of NASCAR couldn't suck any worse if they tried. 7. Kit posted: 09.15.2008 - 8:28 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I agree about Joey Logano. Let's give him a chance but not set him up for failure. They're setting him up for failure by proclaiming him as the next great Cup driver. Let's let him work his way to that first. ESPN is a joke. 8. Neal posted: 09.19.2008 - 2:19 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Kit - Starr wasn't using his head, period. When you drive too deeply into the corner, push the nose up and wreck one truck, fine, but Starr did it 3 separate times. That's stupid driving, not hard driving. There's a reason why David's never moved up from the truck series and he showed it Saturday. 9. Kit posted: 09.19.2008 - 5:52 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Neal, you don't have a clue it seems. The people who weren't using their heads were the guys who attacked Starr. It doesn't matter whether Starr wrecked them intentionally or not. What does matter is that Bodine's pit crew committed a crime by assaulting a driver. Starr didn't break any laws by racing hard. In fact, I applaud him for racing hard as long as he doesn't get into the back of someone intentionally and spin them out. It's called RACING. The people like you who are throwing a fit over the wrecks remind me of the crybabies at the dirt tracks who throw fits when they finish second. Grow up already. Todd Bodine CUT down into Starr; it's obvious on the replay. The main reason Starr never moved to Cup is because the guy knew more contacts in the Truck Series and he didn't fit the definition of a "young gun." That and he probably enjoys it more anyway than having to race 36 times a year and having to deal with sponsorship agreements all week. Besides, why is the Cup Series even relevant? It doesn't prove your point anyway considering how many wrecks Todd Bodine caused in Cup; wrecks that were a result of Bodine driving hard into the corners. I will say that I respect Bodine for showing a lot more class than his pit crew did. It's hilarious how you're trying to bash Starr for never moving up when in fact, the guy started out racing on short tracks Saturday night and now has a successful career at racing. In his own eyes, Starr moved up just fine. I can understand being upset about a wreck when a guy drove right into you from behind and spun you out. But these wrecks? You're venturing into crybaby territory. 10. Just thought I would do this to answer the "What if the NCTS used the Chase Format in 2008" question for anyone else who had wondered that also. Chad McCumbee scores his third 11th place finish in a row. 11. The Real Thomas posted: 09.28.2008 - 5:37 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) The Hornaday thing was typical ESPN hype. He didn't do anything that wasn't prescribed by a doctor. ESPN gets pissed off and tries to bash every sport and series that they don't have the TV rights to, and that includes the truck series. If you watch SportsCenter, you'll see the bias they have towards series and formats (like the BCS in College Football) when they have the rights to it, but as soon as FOX got the rights to the BCS, they raised questions as to its validity. They also have bashed hockey since they lost the rights to it. The whole steroid thing is blown out of proportion by most networks, but ESPN does it partially because they don't have the rights to the World Series divisional playoffs anymore. As far as the race, Todd Bodine showed a lot of class today. Donny Lia deserved to be wrecked, and David Starr was just racing hard with a poor handling truck. NASCAR deserves some credit, too, for not over-penalizing people after the fight. All in all, a great race. 12.
