Darnell got a huge run off of 4 and looked to have the edge but Skinner came charging back to take it by .020. Benson blew a tire and made the points race interesting. JOHN ANDRETTI!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats all i can say, great run. Jeff Green too, thats a good job. 2. Jimmy John posted: 09.21.2008 - 2:30 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Good runs for T.J. Bell and Donny Lia also. Lia scores the first top 10 for Randy Moss Motorsports. Chad McCumbee finishes 11th for the fourth race in a row. Here's how the points would look after Race 4 of 10 if the Chase format was used to determine the NCTS Champion. 1 Ron Hornaday 5671 2 Johnny Benson 5637 3 Erik Darnell 5623 4 Mike Skinner 5605 5 Rick Crawford 5602 6 Todd Bodine 5594 7 Dennis Setzer 5557 8 Matt Crafton 5534 9 Chad McCumbee 5520 10 Jack Sprague 5504 11 Terry Cook 5414 12 David Starr 5403 This is just for fun, I calculated the points myself with nothing better to do with my spare time. Just thought I would do this to answer the "What if the NCTS used the Chase Format in 2008" question for anyone else who had wondered that also. This Chase wouldn't be as close for the points lead as the current format but there would be 5 drivers within 100 points of the leader. 3. I was wondering when that would happen! Chad McCumbee gets his fourth straight 11th place finish. 7. Willy on Wheels posted: 09.23.2008 - 8:44 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) First Randy Moss top ten. He should hire Donny Lia full time next season. He already proved that he can win. 8. Baker posted: 09.24.2008 - 1:31 pm Rate this comment: (0) (5) Awesome flat tire Benson!!! Yeah lets just keep handing all these championships over to the Chevy camp Nascar...you're a pathetic tool. 9. Anonymous posted: 09.24.2008 - 7:39 pm Rate this comment: (3) (0) Yeah NASCAR made Benson decide to stay out on the same tires for 65 laps until they blew out. Happens all the time... 10. Baker posted: 09.26.2008 - 10:28 am Rate this comment: (0) (4) No they didn't make him stay out on old tired, but they did take away his horsepower they earned fairly by following the rules Nascar gave them. Without the ristrictions he wouldn't have had to stay out on old tires just for track position. Nascar and Chevey are buttbuddies and everyone knows it. 12. Anonymous posted: 09.26.2008 - 3:37 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Toyota straight up dominated this race. They had everything but the pole and would of had it if Skinner hadn't nearly wrecked qualifying. Benson was running 3rd behind two other Toyotas and decided to stay out. He didn't need track position he just got greedy. 13. WillG_46 posted: 09.26.2008 - 11:35 pm Rate this comment: (4) (0) Baker is the prime example of confused children on the internet thinking they know everything. Their engines were making excess horsepower so NASCAR cut them down. Why aren't you complaining about the 2005-2006 seasons when Toyota was dominating and winning all the races? Or are you one of the cowardly Toyota bandwagon fans? 14. Kit posted: 09.27.2008 - 3:40 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) Sure, Baker, that's why Chevy is in danger of losing their championship. 15. Baker posted: 09.27.2008 - 8:45 am Rate this comment: (0) (3) Danger of losing the Championship? Are you kidding me? Hornaday is 1 point back and he'll end up winning it by 100+ Toyota dominated the day? It was a Ford who led the most laps 16. Anonymous posted: 09.27.2008 - 2:38 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Did you even watch the race? Darnell led all his laps after pit stops and the dominant Toyotas having problems. 17. The Real Thomas posted: 09.28.2008 - 5:28 pm Rate this comment: (0) (4) Toyota had an unfair advantage, Chevy is buttbuddies with NASCAR. Mike Spinner sucks and got lucky. End of story. 18. Anonymous posted: 09.29.2008 - 6:23 pm Rate this comment: (2) (0) ^ Ford isn't dog meat either. Darnell has been up front at the horsepower tracks all year and probably should be the favorite at Talladega. Ford and Chevy will be affected by this rule change when their new engines are approved. 19. Kit posted: 09.30.2008 - 1:44 am Rate this comment: (2) (0) And I guess Ron Hornaday uses traction control and a restrictor plate with bigger holes, right? 20. Kit | 09.21.08 - 10:56 pm Kit, I agree 100% with you on that. The Trucks definately don't need the Chase format, they have better championship battles than the Cup or Nationwide series. I just thought I would show what it would look like if they did do the Chase. 21.
