They are trying to "save teams money" by making them either only take tires or only take gas during one pit stop. So now all the teams just make two pit stops under caution. How does that save any money? It just gives the pit crew members twice as many opportunites to get hurt. This reminds of the pit rule debacle in 1991. Didn't SOMEBODY think the new Truck rules were a bad idea? Or are the brass at NASCAR just that stupid? Oh well, the Trucks still showed why they are the best racing around. The ending wasn't very exciting, the top lane just couldn't get a run going all night. But it was still a good race. I'll take a good race and a lame ending over the Sprint Cup's 4 hours of boredom follwed by five minutes of excitement any day of the week. It's sad to see Todd create a huge wreck and then win, but what can you say: He is a Bodine. 2. Anonymous posted: 02.14.2009 - 1:58 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Great runs by Terry Cook and J.R. Congratulations Todd Bodine on your 4th straight restrictor plate win, and for being the only driver to win more than once at Daytona in the Trucks. Great runs also for Timothy Peters, JR Fitzpatrick, and Tayler Malsam. 6. hi posted: 02.14.2009 - 5:09 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) I guess Dale Jr. was right, Bodine IS a Cueball headed fool. 7. Rick posted: 02.14.2009 - 5:30 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) With a few more laps and some drafting help, J.R. Fitzpatrick could have easily won this race. Tayler Malsam gets his first career top 10 in his third start. Good run for Timothy Peters. As far as the pitting rule, NASCAR should only allow each team one pit stop under caution or face a penalty if they pit twice. Otherwise everyone will just pit twice as much and as DaleSrFanForvever mentioned, create more chances for crew members to get hurt. 9. I wouldn't be shocked if Ricky had a pretty good year and won a race. 10. Anonymous posted: 02.14.2009 - 6:25 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I agree with the pit crew rule being a joke. The only rule that needs to stay is race teams must use the same race engines for 2 straight races outside of plate races. I've been following other forms of racing. Formula one had this rule and is a great rule if it is enforced properly. 11. dUDE gUY posted: 02.14.2009 - 7:33 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Honestly, I thought that the pit crew rule change was just a ridiculous rumour before I watched the race on Friday. Learning that it was really a rule change was the only thing that marred an otherwise great race. 12. Not to mention, this was his 4th straight superspeedway win, and he did it despite being a victim of that idiotic yellow line rule. However I was kinda pissed to see him win after causing that huge wreck. I can't understand why so many good truck drivers dont have good rides. Bodine didn't have a sponsor, Dennis Setzer is driving a crap Dodge, Benson doesn't have full sponsorship, and Jack Sprague of all people wasn't even in the race! And where was Darnell and th 99? I also agree the new pit rules make no sense. How does making two pitstops now save money?? 13. He and Northern are going to split time wih Ragan in Nationwide Series with his first race at Richmond in May. Roush decided to only field one truck his year. 14. josh posted: 02.15.2009 - 7:31 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Congrats to "the Onion" Todd Bodine for winning @ Daytona again with no sponcer. I got mad at him whenm he got James Buescher loose & spun out, big wreck. I got mad when Ricky Carmichael wrecked. I wish him luck in the trucks. He won multiple championships in the moto. supercross series. Is ranked 2nd all time. Must be hard to transfer from 2-wheel to 4-wheel but he got the hang of it. 15. DaleSrFanForever posted: 02.16.2009 - 10:52 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Like I said, he's a Bodine. Funny that those guys that got wrecked in this race didn't hit his car on pit road like he did to David Starr. 17. Carl Edwards was the only winner under 40 when he won in 2004. -With Jack Sprague not having a ride, Rick Crawford is now the all-time leader with 298 series starts. The two were tied before Daytona. 19. Not quite, Johnny Benson won the fall Martinsville race last year in an unsponsored truck. And I still can't believe Jack Sprague doesn't have a ride, he's a three time champion for crying out loud. 20.
