First Truck Series top tens for Carmichael and Papis, and a great run for McCumbee. Interesting note - last year Bodine won Daytona with Busch finishing second. Then at California Busch won with Bodine finishing second. This year those results repeated themselves. 3. Rusty posted: 02.21.2009 - 7:42 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Terrible race. Mike Skinner also ruined what could've been a good run by Brian Scott. Great runs for McCumbee, Starr, Bell, Carmichael, Peters, and Papis. 4. Bell. 5. Anonymous posted: 02.21.2009 - 8:44 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Two cars out for "crash" without causing a yellow? And how in the world did that oil get on the track without anyone's engine blowing up? Oh, well... 6. Tear it down and replace it with a shopping mall a la Ontario. 7. Willy on Wheels posted: 02.21.2009 - 9:48 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) I wasn't expecting anything good, but 95 of the 100 laps being led by KYLE BUSCH??? That's boring, even by Fontana standards. 8. Anonymous posted: 02.21.2009 - 10:19 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Thank you Willy, we get it. And boy, I bet you loved the Nationwide race then... 9. Good job by David Starr and his team, nice to see him in the top five again. 12. schraderfan posted: 02.22.2009 - 6:11 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Mike Skinner was running in the top 5 all day long but made an extra pit stop under green for tires. 13. Willy on Wheels posted: 02.22.2009 - 8:46 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) Take away one of Fontana's cup dates, and give it to Rockingham. Take the other one away and give it to Kentucky. Give its truck date to either Infineon, Watkins Glen, or Montreal. 14. Destiny posted: 02.22.2009 - 11:00 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Good run by Gabi DiCarlo. Ricky Carmichael had his great run, when he said Kansas is next. 15. DaleSrFanForever posted: 02.22.2009 - 11:27 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Glad I missed this one. Or I would be glad if I hadn't missed it just to watch my Tar Heels get beat. 16. the Great Dave posted: 02.22.2009 - 1:56 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) T.J.Bell's Sponsor was homefortheholidays.org/vegaswatersports.com 17. concerned posted: 02.22.2009 - 3:56 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) I have a feeling Kyle is going to ruin this series just as the Cup guys have ruined Nationwide. I wouldn't be surprised if he won every race he entered. Bodine doesn't have a sponsor and it doesn't look like Hornaday has the horsepower. Benson's equipment isn't the same caliber stuff he had last year. It's gonna be a long year. 18. Kit posted: 02.22.2009 - 4:24 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I wouldn't be too concerned, concerned. This was just a fluke bad Truck race because of the track, not so much because of Busch. Fontana is just a track that takes a good truck moreso rather than a good driver. 19. It will be replaced with a race at Pocono next year. 22. 18fan posted: 09.19.2009 - 4:14 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) "it doesn't look like Hornaday has the horsepower." Yeah right. How do you win 5 races in a row without the horsepower. And the 51 runs like crap every week without Kyle, so Kyle can't be killing the series. 23. Sector posted: 02.03.2020 - 6:58 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Kyle Busch winning in dominating fashion continues onward into the Nationwide series at the very same track, where he leads 143 of 150 laps in addition to his 95 of 110 laps in this race. No one in the history of NASCAR has never won two NASCAR national series (Cup, Busch/Nationwide/Xfinity and Truck) on the same day until Kyle Busch did it on February 21st, 2009. Kyle Busch came close during the Daytona Fourth of July weekend back in 2007, losing to a photo finish to Jamie McMurray in the Cup race while winning the Busch/Nationwide race. 28.
