A road racer should know there's a thing called a brake pedal. The pit rules suck. Really screwed up the race at the end. SPEED could at least tell us why the caution is out and finish showing pit stops before going to commercial. Speaking of which, way too many debris cautions. Let them race. Or can we not have Kylie getting beat? 2. That Braun wreck was nasty, one of the worst in recent memory. 4. Anonymous posted: 03.08.2009 - 8:03 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) imagine NASCAR without kyle busch 5. It was just a chain reaction with Colin being in the wrong place at the wrong time. 6. So Kyle can beat a bunch of halfwit spares who couldn't make it in cup, big deal. It's sorta like Eddie Cheever winning the Indy 500 when his sorry ass was the only recognizable name in a field full of third rate drivers. 7. Most of the drivers in the trucks have not ever ran in Cup or they do not have any desire to run in Cup. Moron. 8. Ron Hornaday, Mike Bliss, Todd Bodine, Johnny Benson, Jr, Johnny Sauter, Stacy Compton, and Butch Miller have ALL run at least one full season in cup. All of them flamed out. The competition level in trucks ISN'T EVEN CLOSE to the competition level in even the Nationwide Series, so Kyle winning a truck race...not impressive. 9. Wrong, the competition level is just as high as in Nationwide and even Sprint Cup.And before you rip Hornaday,Bliss,Benson,Skinner and the others a new one...you should know that ALL of them have had success in Nationwide back when it wasn't a "second happy hour" for the cup guys,Benson even won the championship for that series. Oh,and the racing certainly is better than in Sprint Cup and Nationwide. 11. Does Tom Brady play in the Canadian Football League during the NFL offseason? Does Kobe Bryant play in the American Basketball Association? NASCAR is the only major sport where the top-level participants are allowed to "go down to the minors" and race for glory whenever they choose. It completely cheapens the other 2 series. 12. It has been discussed before but the track owners claim that if they do that, they won't get as many fans in the seats for them races. 13. Thankfully a Cup driver can never contend for the Truck championship because of the schedule, but since 2006 the Nationwide series has become a total joke, and 2009 wont be any different. As far as this race goes, I just can't understand how two champions like Bodine and Benson don't have full sponsors for the year. Bodine may not run Martinsville which would really suck. 14. Dodge | 03.08.09 - 7:40 pm If the track owners cared about getting fans in the seats, they'd lower the ticket prices so people could actually afford 'em(I think Atlanta might of already done this, but I could be wrong). 15. Dodge posted: 03.08.2009 - 11:38 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Each track I believe has lowered ticket prices to a point. They can't go too much lower because it takes so much to put on a race. Security, parking attendants, food vendors, local or state police to get people in or out of parking lots: so we are talking about hundreds of staffers just to start. They have to make a buck. There may be more that I may be forgetting. I don't go to the track much, last time was in 2000, qualifying day at the July New Hampshire event. The track owners are afraid that if they don't have cup drivers, NOBODY would care about that race. 16. Anonymous posted: 03.09.2009 - 4:16 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Well they're wrong about that. 17. 18fan posted: 03.10.2009 - 1:10 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Kyle didn't have third gear, then lost second gear on the last restart. My dad, a Gordon fan, was more impressed by the win than I was. Harvick by far had the best truck. Felt bad for Dennis Setzer, who got caught up in the wreck when Braun turned Carmichael. He was in the same position as Bill Elliott the next day in his contact with Sam Hornish, who should be out of Cup. 18. Kit posted: 03.12.2009 - 7:48 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) "Oh yeah? Seven drivers do not constitute the majority of drivers in the Truck Series, past or current. Stacy Compton never ran a full season in Cup without skipping a race, plus all his rides in Cup pretty much sucked. Same thing with Butch Miller. 19. Kit posted: 03.12.2009 - 7:50 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) "The track owners are afraid that if they don't have cup drivers, NOBODY would care about that race." I'd imagine that most people go to a truck race to see a truck race, not to see XXX driver in a truck race. NASCAR and the tracks are so out of touch with the fans that it's unbelievable. 20. Companies that offer sponsorship in the truck series are usually smaller, privately-held corporations that suffer the most during a recession. 21. It was turning into a crazy fuel strategy race and with 15 laps left under commercial naturally, debris and not shown. This directly led to the Braun wreck. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
