I don't understand why Red Horse Racing shut down Johnny Benson's truck due to lack of sponsorship and yet their other truck, driven by T.J. Bell, has no sponsor. I'd rather have Johnny Benson in my truck than T.J. Bell! 2. NazRacePhan posted: 06.28.2009 - 7:55 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Well, I agree with that abour RHR... I was shocked and appauled to see that they added on as a driver Timothy Peters!!! Dump JB, and then add on another truck? That doesn't seem to make any sense to me!! 3. RHR claims that Bell has partial sponsorship and hat is why they chose to keep him. One owner of RHR is Jeff Hammond. 4. He has been screwed by 2 different organizations in the past 3 years. Why did they hold this race during the daytime in late June? That killed the attendance because it was blazing hot. Usually they pack Memphis, but I don't blame them for not coming out in that weather. Why didn't they hold it at night like they usually do? It reminds me of the Busch race they held at Martinsville in 2006 in the middle of July (which was going to be a night race, but it was moved to the day to accomodate the Cup guys which is a bunch of crap!). Of course the attendance was bad, it was really hot! 6. CFob posted: 06.28.2009 - 11:25 pm Rate this comment: (3) (0) "That wouldn't be very professional. You don't go up to a driver in the middle of the season and say, "Sorry, but your teammate lost his sponsorship, so we need to kick you out of your truck so he can drive it." That destroys the trust factor between a driver and a team. It's the same crap that junk teams like Haas did to Ward Burton back in '04. If a driver has to worry about outside situations he can't control putting him out of a ride (except for sponsorship issues of course), there is no incentive for him to race for that team. It's also easy to suggest when you're a fan sitting at home that drivers should be replaced at will. In reality, at the race track, drivers and teams are people who relate to one another. T.J. Bell has a relationship with the rest of his team. Hell, he's probably friends with other members of his team. They aren't going to throw him out just because of what happened to Johnny Benson. 8. Remember what happened between Sadler/Allmendinger during the offseason? They tried to boot out Sadler, he sued and got back in his ride and GEM/RPM ended up looking stupid. And so far this season, Sadler has outperformed Allmendinger, proving that it was stupid to try and fire him. 9.
