I would never have imagined that he would get a win this year with the way the team ran at the start of the season, but over the last month he has kicked ass. Like he said, last year at this time he was doing start and parks in the Nationwide series so it's good to see Johnny in a competitive ride. This was the first 1-2 finish for ThorSport Racing and only their third ever win. Career best finish for Jason White as well. 2. 18fan posted: 09.27.2009 - 11:21 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Sauter deserved to win. He had the fastest truck all night. Somebody should give Jason White a good ride. What he does in that crappy 23 truck is incredible. 3. Although I can't really fathom how he's considered a rookie with all of his starts in the NationCup Series and Sprint Cup but whatever. Mike Curb is listed as the owner of Sauters truck but its out of the ThorSport stable so its a 1-2 finish for that team. Great run for Jason White. He is doing so much with so little. He's becoming the new Chad McCumbee 7. His previous career best finish was way back in 2004 when he finished runner-up to Chad Chaffin at IRP. Johnny also won at Richmond in 2003 in the Busch Series with Mike Curb as the listed owner. I've been hoping for the longest time that Johnny wouldn't win ROTY since he shouldn't be a rookie in what most people consider the 3rd tier series of NASCAR when he's driven full time in Nationwide and Cup. But frankly I don't care anymore so congrats to Johnny on a great win. BTW it's one more win than Crafton's had all year. And it only took him 21 starts driving for Thorsport (he had a one-off with them in 2005) compared to 153 starts for Crafton. 9. 18fan posted: 09.28.2009 - 6:50 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Sauter has one win in 31 starts. Crafton, the championship "contender", yeah right, he'll never catch Hornaday, has one win in 217 starts. 10. He only runs well in Trucks because he gets KHI trucks and is one of only about eight teams with full funding. Sauter, meanwhile, won a Nationwide race, very controversially, in a Mike Curb car that was 30th in owner points at the time. He also won at Milwaukee in a James Finch NNS car. 12. I just found it REALLY strange to see one of the world's most desirable cars pacing the field. Not that I'm complaining mind you. Bet the pace car was worth more than the event's purse. 13. Years ago he commented on how he was glad to get out of the Childress #30 AOL car , the third car on the team. He said it was so crappy it was going to ruin his career anyway. 14. This is the first time that it didn't involve Kyle Busch, Almirola finished 8th and Ickler finished 9th. 15. Too bad there weren't more truck races in a season. Around 25 races is just not enough races in the schedule. 16. Hopefully they can build off of the strong runs they've had this year and run up front more regularly next season. 17.
