Winning in a lower series. I guess since you haven't won a Cup points race in 3 years, you need to win something. 2. 18fan posted: 11.20.2009 - 11:40 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Kyle Busch cut a tire and then imploded, just like the old days. Dammit Kyle, just when I thought you might be maturing, you fail. 3. His crew talked him out of it. Before anyone starting riding on Kyle for that, instances of that have occured in the past. Jimmy Spencer actually did park a car in a Busch race at Dover in 1995 for that reason. 4. Timothy has had a great season sicne joining RHR, he was 19th in points when he joined and he finishes the season in 7th. Last race for Roush in the truck series, and they win the pole and finish 3rd, edging out Johnny Sauter (unfortunately) for 5th in points. Crafton finishes 2nd in points with 5 runner up finishes, a worst finish of 16th and completed all but 2 laps. And thankfully, the truck series is ditching the stupid 2 pitstop rule and where you can only change fuel or tires but not both. I believe double file restarts are going to be added to the series in 2010 as well. 5. Anonymous posted: 11.21.2009 - 12:12 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) " 1. LOL I've always been against Cup drivers coming down to Nationwide or Trucks and winning lots of races that the series regulars could be winning, and most of the time with stronger teams. So I'm just saying how I feel about that; Harvick should be focusing on his Cup effort the most since he hasn't won in 3 years. 7. (If you guys cant tell Im bored) So my pick for Truck series driver of the decade has to go between Ron Hornaday or Dennis Setzer...as crazy as it sounds Anyway see you guys in Daytona 8. Jimmy Spencer actually did park a car in a Busch race at Dover in 1995 for that reason." Ah, Jimmy Spencer, the bastion of maturity himself, did it once so it is OK. Seriously though, Kyle should have parked his truck and parked it for good. He is too caught up in trying to accomplish stuff in lower series while he has a good ride in the Cup Series (we'll refer to this as "Kevin Harvick Memorial Syndrome" or KHMS). He should have just parked his truck and forgot about the owner's championship in the Truck Series and the championship in the NWide Series. Yes, he is the champions of this year's NWide Series. Big freaking deal. You missed the cha$e because you made WAY too many mistakes out there. He is probably the only driver out there that can give a serious challenge to JJ over 10 races in terms of equipment and talent, and he didn't even give himself a chance because he acted stupid and got caught up in trying to accomplish little shit. He has 5 years experience of winning in the Cup series, yet he's focused on a Truck owner's championship and a NWide championship. That is just silly. Wake up Kyle, when people look back on your career, you will be just a side note in the Jimmie Johnson Era. He is the perennial Cup champ and you worried about beating up on the little guys. Big whoop. 9. Yeah, this year was kinda crappy with lots of good drivers being shut out of competitive rides due to the economy, but the first 9 were spectacular. The top moments IMO: the 2003 Homestead race and the 2008 Homestead race. Even the phony Cup cha$e couldn't produce that kind of excitement. 10. Why did Harvick even start this race? He should have focused on getting Hornaday the win. 12. Their race winners have included, Greg Biffle 16 wins Mark Martin 7 wins Joe Ruttman 6 wins Carl Edwards 6 wins Kurt Busch 4 wins Travis Kvapil 4 wins Jon Wood 2 wins Erik Darnell 2 wins Mike Bliss 1 win Colin Braun 1 win Ricky Craven 1 win This leaves Thorsport racing and Billy Ballew Racing as the longest tenured teams in the truck series as both have been around since 1996 Last race for Xpress Motorsports with Joe Scott as the owner. Team won a race with Brian Scott in 2009. Team looks to be sold to Kyle Busch perhaps Last race for James Buescher driving for Circle Bar Racing as he moves on to the Nationwide Series Last race for Kyle Busch driving for Billy Ballew Motorsports 13. His average start was 3.7 and average finish was 2.2. This was Crafton's 7th 2nd place finish of his career and caps off a year with career highs in top fives, top tens, poles, laps led (99, not great), average start, average finish and points finish. The last driver to finish runner-up in the points without a win was Rick Crawford in 2002. Colin Braun's 3rd place finish puts him in the top five in points for the season. 9 top fives are three times as many as he had in his rookie year, 14 top tens almost twice as many. He led the series in poles with 5, the first Roush driver to do so. In 17 starts for Red Horse Racing Timothy Peters scored a win, 5 top fives, 11 top tens, 143 laps led and an average finish of 9.8. I'd say him replacing Johnny Benson was worth it. Todd Bodine completes an odd year where he had 11 top fives but only one other stand-alone top ten finish in 25 races. His average finish was the worst in the last 4 years but it was his 6th straight season with at least 2 wins. 14 top tens is the most in a season for David Starr since 2004. Ron Hornaday has 20 top tens in a season for the 4th time. Johnny Sauter is the first rookie to finish in the top 10 in points since Carl Edwards in 2003, but missed a chance to be the first to finish in the top five in points since Travis Kvapil in 2001. 14. What this could mean is that hopefully Ron won't run away with the points lead in 2010 like he did this year, and Mike Skinner might finally get that elusive second championship. 18. And I'd give Johnny Sauter a better shot at the 2010 title than Crafton. 19. Kit posted: 01.21.2010 - 12:26 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) I agree, this past season was really weak.
