Kevin Harvick dominates for another Truck win Interestingly, Cup points leader Kevin Harvick, Nationwide points Brad Keselowski and Truck series points leader Todd Bodine ran 1-2-3 at one point during this race with the series' position on the NASCAR ladder matching the running order. Keselowski gets his best finish to date in the series where he made his name, his 2nd here was his first Truck series top-5 Johnny Sauter snatches a podium finish with some late moves in the pits that payed off. Jeffrey Earnhardt makes his Truck series debut but goes out in crash with Ricky Carmichael. 3. (not sure) Nascar driver to win in all 3 of Nascar's Top 3 series. Props to Harvick as well. Go Bodine! hope he wins his 2nd Truck Title. 10. martin-n-rusty posted: 07.18.2010 - 2:36 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) With only two cup regulars (1 of which is essentially a rookie), I wouldn't complain too much about that Post 7. 11. Kes being a rookie in Cup doesn't make him any different. He just doesn't have the equipment to beat Kevin. As least when Kevin and Kyle beat each other they accomplish a small something. Harvick didn't accomplish jack shit by winning this race. That's why I compared it to a college kid beating up on a 5th grader. It's also bs that every time KHI brings something new and improved to the track it's Harvick driving it. The R&D excuse really doesn't fly when it's the 33 that breaks. 15. martin-n-rusty posted: 07.18.2010 - 11:16 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) I don't mind 3 or 4 or 5 cup guys go to a lower tier race to join in on a race, that doesn't bother me too much. Yeah, they got pretty good odds to win, but at least for the most part, a bunch of the drivers a chance at a good finish, it's when half the field is comprised of cup drivers, and the best non-cup regular finished just outside the Top 8 or 9, is when it is a pain in the ass. Using my thinking cap post 11, mind using yours? 16. Anonymous posted: 07.19.2010 - 12:27 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Great, they have a chance at a good finish. Johnny Sauter, sorry about the Cup guys you had zero chance of beating, but you got 3rd ... just 10 seconds behind the winner. That's a good finish. That's what you came here for, right? 17. martin-n-rusty posted: 07.19.2010 - 2:00 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) It is still way more exposure than if the field was littered with Cup vets. Even the Nationwide race, only 4 full time cup guys, which is not that bad, even if a Cup guy won it. 18. He's one Truck win away from becoming the 3rd driver to have 10+ wins in the top 3 national touring series (Greg Biffle, Kyle Busch the other two). It's KHI's 29th win in the Trucks. Roush Racing has the record for most wins by an owner with 50. Brad Keselowski finishes a career-best 2nd, his first top 5 in 47 Truck starts. Johnny Sauter gets his 4th top 3 finish of the season, 2nd straight. It's his 20th top ten in 47 career Truck starts. Todd Bodine gets his series-leading 9th top five in 11 races this season. His career best was 15 top fives in 2008 so he's on pace to break that. Matt Crafton has back-to-back top fives for the first time this season. Timothy Peters gets his 4th top ten in the last 5 races. Austin Dillon's pole and top 5 streak came to an end but he still got his 4th straight top ten finish, and 4th straight that he's been the highest finishing rookie. Brian Ickler gets his 3rd top ten in 4 starts this season, matching the total he had last year in 11 starts. Mike Skinner gets his 7th top ten in the last 8 races. He's gone from 17th to 5th in the points in that stretch. 19. I'm glad I was driving all day and didn't have to watch Harvick spoil this race. 20. AJ posted: 07.21.2010 - 2:00 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Harvick ran the race because that #2 truck is 2nd in owner points, and with the win is now only 10 points behind the #30. He has every right to run that race and try to help win himself an owner's championship. 21. Anonymous posted: 07.22.2010 - 2:21 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) No, he has every right to put Schrader or Benson in the truck and win the championship fairly. The 30 is doing it without a Cup driver. Plus, no one gives a shit about the owners points. 22. AJ posted: 07.23.2010 - 8:43 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) How is it unfair of him to drive the truck that he owns in a number of races? Yeah, I'd love to see Benson or Schrader in the truck full time, but it's obvious that Harvick wants to race part-time in the Series, and he's not going to expand to 2 full time teams and then a 3rd part-timer just for himself. And don't give me the BS that no one cares about the owner's championship. Yeah, as fans we may not care, but I'm sure guys who actually own race teams give a damn about it. That's why Richard Childress always had the #21 and #29 running every race in the Busch Series a few years ago, even when each car had 4 or 5 different drivers throughout the season, and why Billy Ballew the past few years had Kyle Busch run the #51 whenever he could and then have someone else drive the several races that Kyle would miss. 23.
