Kasey Kahne was 2 for 2 in the Truck series before entering this race and finishing 2nd. 2. Kasey Kahne fails to win his third start after winning his first two starts in the series. Matt Crafton scores his fourth straight top 5 finish. Johnny Sauter qualified 12th for this race. It is the first time this season he hasn't qualified in the top 10. Brent Raymer scores a career best finish. Truck Series debut for Chase Mattioli. Bobby Hamilton Jr. returned to the Truck Series for the first time since 2006. 3. Also the first NASCAR win for former NASCAR driver Greg Sack's company, Grand Touring Vodka. This was a short, but good race. This shows its about quality, not quantity. Judging by the size of the crowd, I have a feeling this race has a good future and look forward to seeing future Camping World Truck Series races at this great Circuit. 4. This race was exciting from start to finish, even during the 25 lap run when everyone was spread out the top 4 were running within 2 seconds of each other, unheard of at Pocono. Great Crowd, Great Race, Hopefully they will be back! Just maybe need to lengthen the race to 200 miles (80 laps) 6. Timmy Quivy posted: 07.31.2010 - 11:18 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Nah, 50 laps was just about perfect :). VERRRRY ironic that the top two drivers are teammates in the Cup Series yet NEITHER one was competing for their Cup manufacturer, Ford. 7. I usually hate cup whackers in truck and busch but didn't mind the ones in this one and actually enjoyed it because you don't see them as much as you others like Busch who just make the races completely dull and trivial. 8. TeamPlayersBlue posted: 08.01.2010 - 12:11 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Smiff, good point. It would probably get the same-sized crowd for two races at pocono because its Saturday before the Sprint Cup Series race. It sure beats sending the trucks to Chicago and Kansas where the security people at the the track greatly outnumber the spectators at the track. Also, it was great for the fans because they also got to see an ARCA race directly after. 11. Anonymous posted: 08.01.2010 - 12:22 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) ?? Kansas usually gets a huge crowd for Trucks. This was a good race, but the Cup guys had even more of an advantage than usual. Hope they don't show up at Darlington. 12. 18fan posted: 08.01.2010 - 12:43 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) I was looking forward to watching this race, but I woke up, turned on SPEED, and the ARCA race was getting ready to start. Being from California, I had slept right through the race. 13. 18fan posted: 08.01.2010 - 12:45 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) On the Loop Data stats, the column with how many fastest laps each driver recorded adds up to only 31. 14. I'm not bashing Kansas, i just think it would be smarter for them to race the trucks at kansas during the cup series weekend. Indycar is likely leaving Kansas next year so it could happen, same thing with Chicago. 15. TeamPlayersBlue posted: 08.01.2010 - 1:06 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) ^^^^^^ I mean post #11 sorry 16. Even if it was just for 50 laps, I hope this shows that he can still get the job done when the vehicle is set up properly. It's like McMurray said at Indy last week, it all comes down to equipment in the end. Since he won't be in the 19 next year, he should just race the #2 truck full time. This was the shortest race of the season, even with the GWC,the first race this year to have more than one GWCs, and the sixth race to have been won from the pole. 17. I predicted a caution-fest, but after that first lap spin (and a hell of a job not tearing anything up by Jason White) it was a really fun race to watch. CON: The Cup guys dominated yet another lower Series event. I have never pulled for a Bodine in my life, but I was actually hoping Todd would drive by and beat those Cup guys, until he screwed up. PRO: At least it was not the usual Cup guys fighting for a lower Series win (like it was at Iowa). CON: The list of drivers who have won in all 3 Series just got a lot less prestigious. PRO: It was nice to see some genuine emotion from a winner in any Series. CON: For Elliott to be that emotional, shaking and almost crying, after winning a Truck race in the Series' dominant car says a lot about his future and where his career has gone. PRO: Elliott winning in this Truck just made Harvick's Truck success this year (as a driver) look a lot less impressive. PRO: I haven't been very sentimental about Austin Dillon in the #3 Truck all year. I am very impressed by Austin's performance lately, but seeing him in that black #3 Truck never did anything for me. But seeing a Bodine screw up and cut across his hood, spinning off a #3 vehicle's bumper, that was pretty cool (after I realized Todd didn't hit anything and wouldn't be hurt). CON: As much as I don't like Denny Hamlin, Austin just drove him right into the wall. Although that is what happens when you choose to dip down in the lower Series with less experienced drivers, that was an amatuerish move even by Truck standards. Overall a good race. Just need less Cup guys. 19. webmaster posted: 08.01.2010 - 9:57 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) #13: You are correct, but those are the figures which NASCAR has posted. Caution flag laps are not included in that column (which explains part of the difference) but I'm not sure what the reason for the remaining difference is. 20. RLewis9 posted: 08.01.2010 - 10:05 am Rate this comment: (0) (1) DSFF, I think the list of winning in all three series lost it's prestige when you notice Jimmy Spencer's name on the list. Elliott Sadler isn't the best driver, but he's a really good guy and I'm glad he got a win of some sorts in NASCAR. 21. RaceFanX posted: 08.01.2010 - 10:42 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) First time either of NASCAR's other two major series ran at Pocono, the Busch boys still have never run at this track. 22. Now we know that KHI has some damn good equipment if somebody like Sadler can win in it. 23. In terms of points races yes, however Elliott did win a Daytona qualifier in 2006. Oddly, both his 2004 wins at Texas and California came with Kahne finishing 2nd, just like this event. "The list of drivers who have won in all 3 Series just got a lot less prestigious." David Reutimann, Kenny Schrader, Steve Park, Ricky Craven, Jimmy Spencer, Jamie McMurray (back when he only had one Cup win) are all on that list, so no, not really. 24. RLewis9 posted: 08.05.2010 - 12:20 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Winning in all three series has lost it's prestige anyways. So many guys have done it now, I remember in 2004 or 2005 it was a big deal, but now...whatever. I'm pretty sure Kurt Busch and the Labonte brothers are the only guys to do the triple and have a cup championship anyways. 25. RLewis9 posted: 08.05.2010 - 12:27 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Too add on to my last post, I just remembered that Tony Stewart has also pulled the triple. So that's 4/21. 26. True, but this watered it down even more IMO. And, to me, this list is WAY overrated in the first place. The announcers talk about it like "he is now one of X number of drivers in NASCAR HISTORY to win in all Cup, Busch, and Trucks". What a load of crap. First of all, the Truck Series didn't even start until 1995. The FORTY SEVENTH YEAR OF NASCAR. Look at how many of the true legends had already retired or passed on by then. Petty, Pearson, Allison (Bobby and Davey), Yarborough, Parsons, Baker, Kulwicki, etc. Then look at the drivers who have never even made a Truck start: Earnhardt never made one, Rudd never made one, Gordon never has, Kenseth never has, Rusty and JJ have each made one total Truck start, Bill Elliott only made 2. Gant and Waltrip were way past their primes when they made their Truck starts. And another thing. All Sportsman Series stats have been wiped clean for some reason. In 1982, it was renamed the Busch Series, so NASCAR has decided to not count anything that happened before that. What the hell????? So it's not like this is something that lots of drivers have attempted. 27. Mod ace Lia in particular was snakebit - he paced the group with a whopping 22nd-place run in this show and then missed a shift on the start of the ARCA race. It was his third and final ARCA start, going out with a whimper as he blew an engine on the first lap in each of his final two ARCA starts. 2010 was his final season running trucks before he returned to the Tour to race mods. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
