Whoopdedo. Glad I slept thru the last 50 laps. 3. Spartan posted: 08.28.2010 - 11:33 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Great run for Rick Crawford in his return since Circle Bar Racing shut down. Also good runs for Justin Lofton, David Starr, whose team sat out this race, Chris Fontaine and Narain Karthikeyan. Jason White drove a Chevy, not a dodge, in this race. 4. 18fan posted: 08.28.2010 - 12:09 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Fontaine tied his career best finish and ran in the top 10 a majority of the race. This applies to all Cup drivers who run lower series races: If you are not running for the championship, you should only be allowed to run companion races. Problem is, each year both the Nationwide and Truck series get more companion races. If NASCAR doesn't put the cap on drivers running all the races, which I don't think they will since Carl Edwards has committed to the full Nationwide schedule again next year. 5. potatosalad48 posted: 08.28.2010 - 1:22 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Toyota's 75th Truck win. 6. Much like Denny did to Kyle in the All-Star Race. A couple laps later Todd caught Kyle once again and almost had the pass made, but the truck got loose as Kyle held Todd down. Then on the GWC Kyle break checked the field and Ron Hornaday missed a shift because of it. Kyle accelerated away for his 20th Truck Series victory. 7. Todd's pretty much locked up his 2nd title. It's gonna take a major slip up and that will most likely not happen. Todd scores his 100th career top 10 finish, and Rick Crawford scores his 160th top 10 finish. 8. 18fan posted: 08.28.2010 - 3:06 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I, as a Kyle Busch fan, think the overall wins in all three series is way overblown. If the legends had the other series to run or run the other series as much as Kyle has, they could've put up the numbers Kyle has in the other series along with their numbers from Cup. 9. petty43 posted: 08.28.2010 - 3:28 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) nice of kyle to win another race with washed up has beens and young drivers, and teams that have like 4 employees, he must really be proud of himself for pilfering the crew chief from the only other good driver in this series who is twice his age and then some, and then proceeding to beat all these guys and gals, what an honor. GIANT HINTS OF SARCASM ARE IMPLIED THROUGHOUT!!!!!!!!! that being said the racing was pretty good at chicago there at the end and i was hoping that todd could pull it off, and then i realized what the hell am i doing rooting for todd bodine, i used to laugh my ass off at how bad this guy was in cup, now i am pulling for him to win a stupid truck race only because i hate kyle busch so much. nascar if you change one thing for next year please stop letting kyle carl kevin and brad and others run these lower series, i want to watch bad old drivers get their shot at glory and these young talented drivers are ruining it!! 10. "Did the commentators seriously compare Kyle's combined NASCAR wins to the great's CUP wins?" I didn't see one second of this race, but they probably did. They want Kyle to be "one of the greats" so bad. 11. RaceFanX posted: 08.28.2010 - 3:30 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) The Busch series came along so late of the legendary NASCAR drivers only a few of them won in it (Richard Petty for instance never tried). HOWEVER what we all forget is that the Cup guys like Darrell Waltrip and Bobby Allison also did double dipping in the old NASCAR Sportman Series that preceded the Busch series and had its records reset to become Busch. The records for that series are so confusing though there is no telling how many wins they (or really anyone else) had. And agreeing with other previous posts, while they double dipped it was almost always in the companion races or as promoter specials to get attendance up and none ran for the title. 12. Other than that I did NOT ENJOY this race. 15. 12345Dude posted: 08.29.2010 - 5:01 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Great news guys! Nascar is thinking only in money again. Kyle Busch will be able to race 21 of 25 races next year. YES!!!!!! Love Bill France III. 16. Since the weekend events at Atlanta don't start until Saturday, Kyle Busch is running the Truck race at Kentucky this week. I'm a KB fan, but it is ridiculous that he runs so many damn Truck and Nationwide races. 18. Mike posted: 08.30.2010 - 2:21 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) I remember reading something where Kyle said it would be cool if he won 200 races or something like that. It wouldn't surprise me if he's truly trying to win 200 NASCAR races. What he doesn't realize is no one (except him and the media) doesn't give a shit about it. People will remember him for what he did in cup, not the minor leagues. I guess I can sympathize with Kyle though. It must be tough getting your ass kicked by Jimmie Johnson for 4 consecutive years. 19. Kyle and Todd have combined to win 7 of the 17 races this year in their climb up the all time list. At least Kyle's racing for himself in the Trucks, that's what guys like Dale Earnhardt, Geoffrey Bodine and Darrell Waltrip did in the 80's in Nationwide. But they didn't run over half the schedule like Kyle does in Trucks or Harvick does in Nationwide... Todd Bodine becomes the 12th driver in Truck Series history to reach the 100 top ten milestone, doing so in his 157th start. He's the 6th fastest to hit 100 top tens: Jack Sprague 120 Ron Hornaday 140 Dennis Setzer 150 Ted Musgrave 150 Joe Ruttman 151 Todd Bodine 157 Mike Skinner 160 Ron Hornaday scores his 131st top five and 189th career top ten in the Truck Series; he's only 5 top fives and 3 top tens respectively behind Jack Sprague's all time records in each. Johnny Sauter gets his 7th top five in the last 10 races. He's still lost about 120 points to Todd Bodine over that span, but he's gone from 6th to 3rd in the standings. Justin Lofton was the highest finishing rookie, getting his 3rd top five and 4th top ten in the last 5 races. Aric Almirola scores his 5th straight top ten. Matt Crafton's 8th straight top ten ties Austin Dillon for the longest streak this season. Rick Crawford gets his 3rd top ten in 6 starts this season. Austin Dillon gets his 9th top ten in the last 10 races. David Starr finishes in the top 10 for the first time in the last 5 races. 20. Still, Kyle could possibly win the championship running 20 of 25 if it's like 2008 where no one has a great season. Still hope NASCAR puts a cap on how many races they can run, but they will probably just make a chase for NW so that the Cup guys still win every race and do nothing about trucks. 21. Talon64 posted: 09.02.2010 - 5:24 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Based on average of points scored for everyone, if Kyle ran 20 races this year then he'd finish 8th in the standings, 611 points behind Todd Bodine. For 2008, Kyle's 2010 average would be enough for him to finish 6th in the standings if he ran 20 races, about 350 points behind champion Johnny Benson. 22.
