It looks like the Cup Drivers have finally ruined this series just like the Nationwide Series long ago. 3. Another good run for Nelson Piquet Jr. was spoiled on the last lap. James Buescher has caught fire, vaulting from 11th to 7th in the standings, but can he be consistant enough to fight his way back into the title hunt? Back to Back Top 10's for the first time in Justin Marks truck career. Not a bad race, just wish Bowyer could have hung on at the end. 4. It is too damn predictable. They can at least adjust the schedule to run the same tracks, but none as a companion event. Class move by Kyle to honor her like that. 7. irony posted: 05.20.2011 - 11:28 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Pretty good race. Too many caution laps, too many Dodge Durango commercials. Piquet had another good run go bad. Sauter and Hornaday really hate each other, sour grapes from their RCR days probably. No one can make it 4 wide and not share the blame for contact. Decent NASCAR debut for Kimi. He made going from driving a Ferrari to a pickup truck look difficult, but he brought it home when others didn't. 8. rw posted: 05.20.2011 - 11:31 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Can we please... for the love of God. I was really impressed with Nelson Piquet, Jr, running top 5 most of the day and spinning out of 7th on the last lap. He ran 2nd at Nashville and seems to have figured the Trucks out, so look for him to run strong again at Kansas. 11. RaceFanX posted: 05.20.2011 - 11:40 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Ironic for James Buescher given he was sponsored by Exide in this race his team had to change a battery in the truck at one point. They did so under yellow and the blue #31 Chevy came charging (pun not intended) back through the field for a top-5 finish. 12. myothercarisanM535i posted: 05.20.2011 - 11:43 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Good to see Kimi bring home the truck in one piece. I'm very curious to know his thoughts on the event. It must have been very, very frustrating for him, with the cautions and whatnot. But still, good job. 13. There is a KBM Toyota at the shop and Kimi has a sponsor lined up (Perky Jerky?) all he needs is a car number to be in. My guess, along with many others, think Joe Nemechek will be listed as the owner, maybe put the #87 on the car, in order to lock Kimi in. Also looks like he'll attempt a Cup race later this season. Overall I was pretty impressed with his debut. 15. I've actually been impressed with Nelson ever since he first started racing in this series a year ago. He has likely shocked a lot of his critics by running this well. 16. irony posted: 05.21.2011 - 3:17 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Did anyone else find the screen on the backstretch to be much smaller than you expected? And I feel much better for it. Unless you are a Kyle Busch fan, I recommend doing the same. It makes NASCAR much more bareable. 22. It's also fun watching young guys like Cole Whitt race with the veterans like Hornaday, Bodine, and Sauter. Nationwide races are a whole different story. 24. That's what I hang my hat on. I just try to ignore his presence, knowing and accepting before the race even starts that a Truck reg won't win. An awesome 3 truck battle is shaping up. Same or better in NW. Could be 2003 all over again. 28. Talon64 posted: 05.24.2011 - 6:21 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Kyle Busch gets his 28th career Truck win, tying him with Mike Skinner and Jack Sprague for 2nd all time. Clint Bowyer finished 2nd to Kyle for the 2nd time that day, after losing out to Kyle for the All Star pole. Clint's finished 2nd to Kyle in both of his Truck starts this season. Cole Whitt's 2nd straight top 5 finish is enough for him to become both the first rookie and youngest driver to ever lead the Truck Series standings. He's the only driver to finish on the lead lap in all 7 Truck races this season. James Buescher got his 10th career top 5 in 54 Truck starts (9 in his last 26). Since finishing 35th at Martinsville, Buescher's gone from 20th to 7th in the standings in the last 3 races (5.7 average finish). Ron Hornaday Jr. got his 6th consecutive top 10, but has been docked 25 points for a post-race infraction on his Truck. Austin Dillon got his 20th career top 10 in just 34 Truck starts, and moved into the top 5 in points for the 1st time this season. Parker Kligerman gets his 2nd top 10 in the last 3 races (should've been 3 straight, running 3rd at Dover when he spun out). After only 1 top 20 finish in the first 5 races of 2011 Justin Marks gets back-to-back top 10's for the 1st time in his career, going from 21st to 15th in the standings in the last 2 races. Brad Sweet got his 2nd career top 10 in 17 Truck starts, and 1st of 2011. Travis Kvapil gets his best finish of 2011 in 11th, just his 2nd finish better than 20th. Kimi Raikkonen became the 2nd former F1 champion to make his NASCAR debut in the Trucks; Jacques Villeneuve qualified 7th and finished 21st, 1 lap down at Las Vegas in 2007 driving for Bill Davis Racing. Kimi only qualified 31st but finished 15th and posted the 17th best driver rating in the race at 69.7. 31. He created his team with the intention of using up and coming drivers, but he didn't have sponsorship for them and was losing money. He either has to run the truck himself or shut the team down really, he is learning the hard way how tough being an owner really is. 32. 00andJoe posted: 11.29.2011 - 4:09 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) #15 owner: Kyle Busch 33. Kimi is easily a mood for us all, as he is quiet, seemingly emotionless, and has a very dry sense of humour. Also, he once raced in a snowmobile race under the name James Hunt. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
