Brad told his spotter to relay to Ron that he didnt wanna be hit on the restart, and he got flat-out ran over. Brad wants people to race him as he races them... not let them get away with dirtying him up and he's just supposed to take it. It's really not a big deal at all, and I would hardly consider their post-race conversation "yelling". You're searching for reasons to hate the guy, when it's really just your own bias. I'm pretty sure Brad could care less about people racing him hard. But there's a racing etiquette that you follow in every series ever, and obviously Brad wasn't happy that he got jacked up on a restart in a race where he was gonna get his first truck win. It's really easy to understand, unless you're an idiot. 5. On the restart Lofton retook the lead and even with another restart later Keselowski was unable to retake the lead. Keselowski was fired up after this race about a bump he took in the backend from Ron Hornaday Jr. on the final restart, dropping the F word and the S word live on Speed as he tried to chew out the Truck series legend. Hornaday shrugged it off as just a racing deal, which it looked like it was. Jeb Burton scores his first Truck series top-10 with a solid 8th-place finish. Burton needed the strong run, his team's sponsorship from State Water Heaters is only for six races at the start of the season and the team needs to attract more to keep racing. Brennan Newberry had a very rough night as he spun coming off turn 4 on four seperate occasions over the course of this race. 7. irony posted: 05.18.2012 - 11:19 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Brad's done his share of overaggressive driving. Cup driver, doesn't belong anyway. A NW champ and legitimate Cup contender shouldn't be concerned about getting his first truck win. 8. TheTruthâ?¢ posted: 05.18.2012 - 11:29 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) "it would be like me throwing a fit if my 4 year old cousin beat me at mario cart wii." Not so sure about that. Hornaday's a veteran of all 3 top NASCAR series, including Cup, and a 4-time truck series champion. Hornaday is a great driver and can race clean, but he chose to rough Brad up on that restart. Anybody has a right to be disappointed with that, whether it's an up-and-coming driver or a Cup driver. I guess from Brad's perspective, he got roughed up a lot when he was the nobody driving for a junky team in the truck series, and yet he still doesn't get the respect from certain drivers, even though he has accomplished more than them at this point. Maybe he should expect worse mistakes and worse driving in the truck series compared to cup, but I don't think he's supposed to throw away all driver etiquette and stop racing others as he races him simply because it isn't cup. That about sums that up. If you disagree with that, alright. We see slightly different on it. Sorry for an insult in my original reply btw 9. Then the race would have probably been dominated by a cupper and there wouldn't have been much contention for the lead. I wouldn't even consider Brad a cupwhacker because he's running his own stuff. Would be nice to more truck races like this. 29. NicoRosbergFan posted: 05.19.2012 - 9:27 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) Brad Keselowski running the trucks is just as much of a sin as Shrub, Harvick, and Kahne running these races. Just because he does it in his own truck doesn't justify for in so doing you just Harvick's truck racing for the last 10 years and Shrubs last year and the year before. No, it is the same. Brad doesn't belong here when he has a top-5 points finish and 6 wins to his name at the Cup level. 30. Cooper posted: 05.19.2012 - 10:45 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Brad really wants the Truck win really bad. A lot of fans don't understand that he really wants to win a truck race for his family as well as Dodge. Brad's family has been in this series for a long time and Brad's main objective is to just win 1. You have got to understand that he has an emotional connection to this series as well as the manufacture and this is about pride more than winning for himself. I really want this truck win for Brad as well. This series is where he became my favorite driver and I remember cheering so hard for him to win a truck race. I'm pretty sure after he wins one for his family/friends and the team, he will go away and just be the owner of the #29. Someone angry at Ron Hornaday? Why Why that's impossible! Ron Hornaday is one of the cleanest drivers out there. Have no reason why almost every driver coast to coast has crossed paths with this underachieving race car driver...Can't figure it out. Eventually you'll get your Truck win Brad and it will be in a Ram. Also, you gotta love his sponsor over the last two years... No one can match the Cooper Standard. :) 31. Kyle posted: 05.19.2012 - 10:59 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) i realize how important winning a truck race would be to brad, his dad bob keselowski is a former winner in the truck series and they would be the only father / son duo to win in trucks (since ronnie hornaday and dustin skinner both sucked) but brad's chance to win a truck race should come a long time from now, after he is no longer running cup full-time. 32. I hope he gets his Truck win this year so he can hopefully cut that out of his schedule next year, as well as his "limited" NWide schedule (sorry, but only missing the non companion events doesn't really qualify as "limited"), and focus on the big prize, the Sprint Cup. Brad, Paul Wolfe, and the Penske cars are capable of it. Don't waste your emotional energies on a Truck race. I understand his emotional attachment to the Trucks. But go get the Cup! His best finish prior to that was 3rd (Dover 2010, Daytona 2012). After having just 3 top 10's and no top 5's in 2011, Lofton's one of 4 drivers with 5 top 10's to start 2012 and has 3 top 5's. It's his first top 10 in 3 Charlotte starts (9.3 avg fin). It's also the first career win for Eddie Sharp Racing in the Trucks, after moving up from ARCA in 2011. Brad Keselowski ties his best career Truck finish in 2nd, his 2nd top 5 in 3 starts this season (1 in his first 48 starts). It's also the 4th runner-up finish for Brad Keselowski Racing, which is also still looking for their first win. 3 drivers who're with new teams for 2012 got their first top 5's of the season: Todd Bodine with Red Horse, Jason Leffler with KBM and Ron Hornaday Jr with JDM. It's Bodine's 2nd straight top 5 (5 in all of 2012), it's Leffler's 20th career top 5 in 51 series starts and it's JDM's 3rd career top 5 in 38 starts. Jason White had 5 top 10's in 2011, but has started 2012 with 3 top 10's in the first 5 races. Joey Coulter cracks the top 10 in points with just his 2nd top 10 in 5 races. Jeb Burton's the highest finishing rookie of the race in 8th, his first career top 10 finish in his 4th series start. He has 3 finishes of 13th or better (36th at Kansas). Timothy Peters and Ty Dillon make it 3 drivers, along with Justin Lofton, who've finished in the top 10 in each of the first 5 races of 2012 (all top 3 in points). 44. 10andJoe posted: 05.24.2012 - 2:00 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) #14 sponsor: Jeremy Staat Foundation/WalltoWallBicycleRide.com #17 sponsor: Tire Kingdom/ServiceCentral #28 sponsor: gotyour6.org/FDNY/NYPD #57 sponsor: G.L.
