Congrats to Coulter, that was a ballsy move on the restart. That's getting your first victory in style. 2. And Bodine proves his idiocy once again. 4. And I don't think that Jennifer Jo Cobb's problem was an engine. She actually suffered a flat tire before the race even started, and parked it because she didn't want to change any tires. The only retirement among those first nine that may have been legitimate would have been Ryan Sieg. The other eight were start-and-parks. In fact, there may be almost as many S&P's this weekend to fill a Truck Series starting grid. With the eight (and possibly nine) in this race, a count potentially as high as 14 or 15 in the Nationwide Series race, and as many as 10 or 11 in the Cup race tomorrow, there could be as many as 36 vehicles, or nearly one-third of all the vehicles (122 total) in the three major series this weekend, do start-and-parks this weekend. 8. Dodge posted: 08.04.2012 - 4:29 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) @Red: I believe it was to fit the Trucks and Arca into one day. This is the third year that the trucks was at Pocono for 125 miles. 10. cjs3872 posted: 08.04.2012 - 4:31 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I don't know Red. This race is shorter than even the Daytona qualifiers are now. and had the race gone green for the entire distance, as it looked like it might, it wouldn't have lasted more than about 40-45 minutes. This race should be at least 200 miles. But then again, who knows how many trucks might have been left had that been the case. As it was, only 23 were running at the end, though a lot of that was due to the 8-9 S&P's in a 36-truck field. And three of those were either in wrecks, or had major mechanical problems. Had this race been longer, the number of finishers might have only been in the teens. But a speedway race in one of NASCAR's major series needs to at least be 200 miles. Even with the lengthy cautions for the wrecks, this race was still nearly completed in less than one hour. Way too short! 11. Bronco posted: 08.04.2012 - 4:41 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Todd Bodine is a fool if he thinks Piquet had anything to do with him wrecking. Not surprising coming from him since he blamed someone else for the wreck at Kentucky which was his fault yet again. He has royally sucked since that Dover win. In fact, he has sort of fallen off the map since winning the 2010 championship. Piquet has led the most laps at Rockingham and now Pocono, he will definitely win a race or two this year. He has enough talent to make it in Cup, but if he gets there or not is a different story. 12. I believe that made their day, and the race. 14. the Great Dave posted: 08.04.2012 - 5:40 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) "And I don't think that Jennifer Jo Cobb's problem was an engine. No replay either. 16. Mamorese posted: 08.04.2012 - 6:25 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Ya both the Jennifer Jo Cobb trucks suffered catastrophic problems in the first lap lmao. Jennifer blew up coming to the green (I was there, there was an oil streak along the entire pitlane) and Lafferty slammed into the turn 2 wall and totaled his truck on the first lap, somehow not bringing out a caution. 17. 10andJoe posted: 08.04.2012 - 6:27 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Also, Cobb doesn't start and park - the 0 truck would have, but she runs her own truck for the whole race, barring engine failure. Which is what happened here. 18. 10andJoe posted: 08.04.2012 - 6:29 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) #22 sponsor: Darrell Gwynn Foundation/RCR 19. But after going back and watching it, Todd has absolutely no one to blame but himself. It's the same move he pulled on Crafton at Gateway in '09 which led to his infamous "That Stupid Kid Is Gonna Get Turned" rant. So to me, this was nothing more than Classic Bodine. By the way, just to lighten this deal up a bit, his helmet whip was pretty weak too. It reminded me of Kyle Busch when he threw his Hans at Casey Mears (I think) at the '06 Coke 600. And in an ironic twist, Kyle just so happened to wreck himself in that incident, just like Todd did in this race. 21. 18fan posted: 08.04.2012 - 7:55 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Kyle actually got collected by a spinning Casey Mears in that wreck in the Coke 600, but Kyle thought Mears had taken him out when it really was wrong place, wrong time for Kyle. 22. murb posted: 08.04.2012 - 8:30 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Yep, thanks for the correction 18fan. Brad Keselowski will drive the #29 at Michigan, then TBD from there. (Reported on Jayski.com) 29. Rusty posted: 08.06.2012 - 4:46 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Sucks for Kligerman. What more can they expect? BKR isn't exactly a big team, he is 6th in points and a few good runs away from being in the title mix. What sucks even more is that this means we'll just see more Cup drivers in these races. 30. cjs3872 posted: 08.07.2012 - 1:20 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) But this news about Parker Kligerman being released from Keselowski's team could have been seen from a mile away when Penske hired Ryan Blaney a few weeks ago to drive the #22 NNS car in races that Brad Keselowski wasn't going to drive the car in. (In fact, I even predicted that Blaney's signing with Penske was bad news for Kilgerman.) I believe Kligerman was only in that truck as part of the development deal with Penske. I think that Penske may be going another direction with the hiring of Blaney. The diappearance of Dodge may also have a little something to do with this, and it's not certain whether or not Keselowski is going to keep that team running after this season when he switches to Fords in the Cup series, and probably the Nationwide Series along with it, if he continues to run those races, which I think he will. 31. Talon64 posted: 08.07.2012 - 4:51 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Kligerman says he's probably have a ride for Michigan. Reminds me of Reed Sorenson getting dumped mid-season by Turner last year, although Kligerman's indicating it was at least somewhat amicable. Joey Coulter becomes the 74th driver to win in the Truck Series and the 4th first time winner this season, winning in his 36th career start. It's just his 2nd top 5 of the season, but his 6th top 10 in the last 9 races with no finish worse than 15th to go from 24th to 7th in the standings. James Buescher finishes in the top 3 for a series-leading 6th time this season, two more than Timothy Peters in 2nd. Nelson Piquet Jr. earned his 2nd career Truck Series pole, both coming this season, and 3rd pole between NNS and Trucks in 2012. Piquet's now led the most laps in both races that he's started from pole but just has finishes of 7th and 3rd to show for it. But he did pick up his 10th top 5 and 20th top 10 in 41 career Truck starts. Matt Crafton extends his top 5 streak to a career-high 5 straight, and has 6 straight top 10's as well. Denny Hamlin picks up his 4th top 5 in 14 career Truck starts. Ty Dillon gets his series-leading 10th top 10 of the season, and 12th career top 10 in 14 Truck starts. Parker Kligerman's 7th top 10 of the season is just 1 less than he had in all of 2012. John Wes Townley gets his first career top 10 in 58 starts between Nationwide and Trucks. His previous best finish was 14th in the previous Truck race at Chicagoland. In just 11 of 22 races in 2012, Justin Lofton's already established a new career high in top 10's in a season with 9 (8 in 25 races in 2010, his rookie season). It's his 20th career top 10 in his 61st series start. Ross Chastain gets his 2nd top 10 of the season and 3rd in 16 starts, all as a teenager. 32. Parker understood that the door was closing for him to get a full-time ride in Penske Racing after Roger signed Ryan Blaney and also he was frustrated with the lack of resources BK Racing has. It seems that a team approached Parker to offer him a ride, and he decided to talk with Brad about releasing him. Well, being a huge Parker fan, I must admit I'm not sure if it was a right decision. Still, in the same equipment Brad was competitive in races he ran this year. I know, he's in another league if we compare him to PK, but it is some food for thought. At the same time if the team has no any factory support at all and considering Penske switch to Ford it was easy for Parker to feel like being on a sinking ship.I hope in his new team he proves that he really belongs here. 33.
