Great run for Townley in this one. Ran third for a good chunk of the middle part of the race, and was running 6th with eight to go before the truck started fading. 4. 10andJoe posted: 09.21.2012 - 10:23 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) #17 status: handling. 5. murb posted: 09.21.2012 - 11:35 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I missed it, but hopefully Buescher can use this to get some momentum on his side. I think he has undoubtably been the quickest guy this year, but they have been too streaky to be a championship contender. Now, with Timothy fading, Buescher and his 31 team should try and take advantage of the younger and more inexperienced 3 team of Ty Dillon for the next few races. If they do that, then I think they will get back in the hunt. 6. Anonymous posted: 09.22.2012 - 12:39 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) Townley has been steadily improving ever since Chicago. He's running inside the Top 10 more often even if he hasn't always had the finishes to show for it. Townley won't have a Ricky Stenhouse type career turnaround, but it looks like he finally GETS it. Bummer to see Ross Chastain start and park. 7. 1995z71 posted: 09.22.2012 - 12:40 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) Dakoda Armstrong's truck was smoking even during a pace laps. 8. It's amazing to see what Jake and his family-owned team has been able to accomplish as a part-time independent this season. He finally avoided trouble and got the good finish that he deserved. 11. cjs3872 posted: 09.22.2012 - 3:21 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) Of note, due to a handful of start-and-parks, combined with a number of crashes, only half the field of 36 ended up running at the finish, and I wonder how long it's been since there's been a major NASCAR race other than the plate races at Daytona or Talladega where at least half the field failed to finish, cause this looked like a race from the 1970s or early 80s, so many trucks dropped out. 12. Hopefully the fantasy world crosses paths with reality over the winter and some sidelined drivers can get sponsorship to go back on the track and replace the Tim George, Bryan Silas and Max Gresham category of drivers. 16. Race Tracks have cut down the amount of cash they give out out to race for Trucks and the Nationwides at least. Race Track started this 2 or 3 years ago. Most of the tracks in all 3 series are owned by the SMI or ISC. SMI and ISC are companies that publicly traded companies and that means they are trying to make stockholders happy. 17. 10andJoe posted: 09.22.2012 - 12:58 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) #4 sponsor; Drive for Savings/Mudd Advertising 18. As for what would happen if there were less than 25 full time teams ... it's happened before in this series, and there would just be 24 (or however many) locked in trucks, and more go or go home teams. We might be headed that way soon, since it sounds like the 07 and 08 trucks might not make it to the end of the year. 19. I doubt this was what Chris Fontaine had in mind when he decided to run full time this year. 20. Talon64 posted: 09.25.2012 - 5:49 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) James Buescher picks up his 4th Camping World Truck Series win of 2012 and of his career. Only 1 other driver, Timothy Peters, has 2 wins. Buescher now leads the series in wins, podiums (8), top 5's (9) and laps led (461). In his 42nd series start, Parker Kligerman picks up his 10th career top 5 and 20th career top 10. 5 of those top 5's are runner-up finishes, one off of the record for the most runner-up finishes by a driver before/without a victory (Jason Leffler, who had 6 runner-up finishes in his first 28 starts before getting his one and only Truck Series win to date). It's Kligerman's 4th top 5 in 5 races since joining Red Horse Racing (7.0 avg fin), after just 2 in 11 races with BKR to start 2012. Ty Dillon finishes in the top 3 for a 3rd consecutive race, during which he's outscored the competition by 12 points. Dillon only had 2 top 3 finishes in the first 13 races of the season, but now he's tied with Timothy Peters for the 2nd most this season with 5. Ty Dillon also picked up his series-leading 14th top 10 of the season. He's on pace for 19 top 10's this year, which would tie the rookie record set by Ricky Hendrick back in 2001. Joey Coulter earned his 2nd pole of 2012 and of his career, both coming in the last 5 races. Coulter finished in the top 7 for the 5th time in the last 6 races, and he's on pace for 6 top 5's and 14 top 10's this season, surpassing his totals (5 and 13 respectively) from his rookie season. Brian Scott got his 10th career top 10 in his 60th series start, but his first top 10 finish since a 7th at Texas back in 2009 (3 starts since 2010, all this year). Johnny Sauter has back-to-back top 10 finishes for just the 2nd time this season. Sauter has 6 top 6 finishes and 7 finishes of 22nd or worse this season. Since starting the season with 7 straight top 10's, Justin Lofton has just 4 in the last 9 races and has dropped from 1st to 7th in the standings. Miguel Paludo finished a season-best 8th, his 4th top 10 of the season but first that wasn't a 10th place finish. Paludo has back-to-back top 10's for the first time this season and just the 2nd time in his career. Matt Crafton finished 9th for a 4th consecutive race. JWT picked up his 2nd career top 10, both coming in the last 5 races. Since missing Daytona due to his DUI and being 34th in points after Martinsville, JWT's climbed his way up to 16th in the standings. Ryan Blaney hasn't finished worse than 11th in any of his first 4 Truck starts (1 win, 2 top 10's). In fact, he hasn't finished worse than 11th in any of his last 8 starts between Nationwide and Trucks (6 top 10's, 8.0 avg fin). Jake Crum finished a career-best 13th, his 2nd top 20 finish in 9 career Truck starts. Jennifer Jo Cobb finished a season-best 16th, her first top 20 of the season and first since an 18th at Las Vegas last year. 26. 44andJoe posted: 12.29.2012 - 1:44 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) #93 owner: Rod Sieg. 27.
