That happens a lot for that team. 3. Anonymous posted: 09.30.2012 - 12:00 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Nelson piquet!!! This was a frustrating race in the beginning when there were three cautions in the first 15 laps, but once the race started to flow and get some green flag runs it was quite a fun race to watch. Much better show than the Cup cars have ever put on at Vegas since the reconfiguration. 5. 10andJoe posted: 09.30.2012 - 1:05 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) ^ and of course they won't be coming back next year. 6. 12345Dude posted: 09.30.2012 - 1:24 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) That was a great slidejob. Week after week the trucks put on the best racing. I know nothing (NOTHING) about the design of the cars/trucks but why are these truck races always the best? Does it have something to do with the design of the truck? I know it makes a difference at Michigan (for the better) but I'm not sure about anywhere else. 7. 10andJoe posted: 09.30.2012 - 2:00 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) #88 sponsor: Menards/Rip-It Energy Drink 8. 10andJoe posted: 09.30.2012 - 2:07 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Looking at the numbers, and accounting for the start-and-parks, there's 140 points available in the remainig five races. Therefore, we can realistically consider everyone from Hornaday and down to have been eliminated from any hope of championship contention. (Meanwhile, everyone after Piquet is realistically, realistically eliminated.) 9. Biscuits In A Red Bull posted: 09.30.2012 - 2:38 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) What a win for Piquet! And sometimes I think NASCAR doesn't want to see Kligerman on the Victory Lane. In Iowa after controversial call by Chad Kendrick Parker still a had a great chance to win the race but untimely debris caution (debris weren't shown) killed the team. Yesterday Kligerman pitted early, received drive-through for too fast entering and after he had served the penalty debris caution flew again. And again debris weren't shown. #7 were 2 laps behind leader as a result. Like in Iowa Parker then eliminated himself trying to catch the leaders. Kid can race but can't keep his head cool in key moments. Sometimes it's a pleasure to watch his risky maneuvres, but these crashes hurt me much more. 14. I don't know what it is in this series ?(vehicle, horsepower, tires, drivers)? but 9 times out of 10 this series delivers a great race with lots of passing and risky moves. Pastrana had a decent run tonight in 15th. It would be nice to see him run Trucks full time and take the time to develop, opposed to being way over his head in Nationwide. Richie Wauters must be happy he can actually bring a truck home in one piece. The Siegs need to drop a field filler and get the primary truck to actually finish a race without falling apart. 15. First Chris Lafferty was loosing control of his truck, got down on the apron, then hooked a right and flat destroyed the truck. His wreck was flat from lack of experience. Then there was the big one. Miguel Paludo got into Lofton coming out of 4. Lofton almost made a couple good saves, but finally lost it and spun across the track. Poor Johnny Sauter had no where to go and the hit caused Lofton to do a full spin in the air ( he most definitely would have flipped at Dega). Then to add insult to injury, they both spun back up the track and collected Paludo (who spun). That's when Johnny made his 'AJ is Pissed' reference. 17. 10andJoe posted: 09.30.2012 - 1:29 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) >actually [ray] dunlap said the the trucks will be back at vegas next year. That's good news. For all the lamenss that Cup puts on at the track, the Trucks have /always/ put on a brilliant show at Vegas. 18. I've always had a soft spot for him and it woulda been nice to see him win his third career Truck race. Oh well, he's bound to win another one sometime soon... at least I hope so. Grant Enfinger posted a 12th-place finish for Brad Keselowski -- in six career Truck Series races, Enfinger has finished 12th three seperate times, at Talladega last year and the season-opener at Daytona. Travis Pastrana finished 15th in his Truck Series debut for Duke Thorson. Norm Benning finished 18th, his second-best finish of the season -- also finished better than Parker Kligerman, Justin Lofton, Johnny Sauter and Hornaday (even though all four of them DNF'ed). Ty Dillon now leads James Buescher by one point in the standings -- Dillon finished 10th, while Buescher came home in seventh. It's setting up for one hell of a fight 19. Piquet Jr.'s 11th top 10 of the year surpasses his total from 2011, and his 6th top 5 equals it. In the 13 races (out of 17) that Piquet Jr. has finished this season, he has 11 finishes of 9th or better and a 6.5 average finish. Turner Motorsports has now won 7 of 17 Truck races this season (Buescher 4, Piquet Jr. 2, Kahne 1). Matt Crafton becomes the 13th driver to record 10 runner-up finishes in the Truck Series (versus just 2 wins). 3 of those runner-up finishes have come in the last 4 Las Vegas Truck races. It's Crafton's first top 5 in 6 races, and his 5th straight top 10 but first that isn't a 9th place finish. Joey Coulter's 5th top 5 of the season equals his total from his rookie 2011 season, and he has now climbed to a season-high 4th in the standings thanks to back-to-back top 5's and his 9th top 10 in the last 11 races (5 top 5's, 6.5 avg fin). Brendan Gaughan picks up his 4th top 5 in 6 starts this season, but they're the most top 5's he's had in a season in Trucks since he had 4 in 2006. Between Nationwide and Trucks for RCR this year, Gaughan has 6 top 5's, 8 top 10's and an 11.0 avg fin in 14 starts. Todd Bodine's 5th top 5 of the year equals his top 5's from all of 2011, but it's just his 6th top 10 of the season (9 finishes of 21st or worse). But it's his 2nd top 5 in the last 3 races. James Buescher has now finished 7th or better in 7 of the last 8 races (2 wins, 5 top 5's, 5.25 avg fin) to go from 40 points out of the points lead to just 1. Cale Gale's the highest finishing rookie of the race in 7th, just his 5th top 10 of the season but his 2nd in the last 3 races. Timothy Peters picks up his first top 10 in 4 races, but has no top 5's over that span (8 in the first 13 races). David Mayhew finishes in the top 10 for the 4th time in 11 career Truck Series starts, first in 3 starts this season and in his first start for KBM. Ty Dillon picks up his 15th top 10 in 17 races this season, keeping him on pace to tie Ricky Hendrick's rookie record of 19 from 2001. Miguel Paludo now has 4 finishes of 11th or better in the last 6 races. Grant Enfinger ties his best finish in the Trucks with his 3rd finish of 12th in 6 starts, but his first top 15 finish at a non-plate track (Talladega 2011, Daytona 2012). John Wes Townley finishes in the top 15 for a 3rd consecutive race (2 in his first 13 starts of the season, none in his NASCAR career prior to 2012). Travis Pastrana and ARCA driver Ryan Reed finishe 15th and 17th respectively in their Truck debuts. 21. The Long Shot posted: 06.27.2013 - 9:15 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Withdrew: none 22.
