I understand that Ty is upset, and I would be too, but it was one of them racing deals. I saw a video clip once (looked like a Busch race at Kansas in the early years, maybe 2001 or 2002), and the NBC cameras caught a little scuffle (emphasis on 'little') in the pit area, where the crew members were basically facing off with each other and giving each other a light push every now and then. Buddy Baker must have been a guest commentator, because he said on air, "Well, if I ever get beat up, that's how I want it to happen." LOL 59. BOTH aspects of racing need to be recognized and rewarded. 61. 18fan posted: 07.13.2013 - 11:10 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) How was Todd Bodine in the booth? 62. murb posted: 07.13.2013 - 11:25 pm Rate this comment: (2) (0) "How was Todd Bodine in the booth?" He was gonna run the 13, but then they decided to let Frank Kimmel drive it. And I guess Michael Waltrip is at that Goodwood Festival thing, so they needed someone else in the booth. I thought Todd did a pretty good job in the booth. It was much better than listening to MW's usual garbage spewing. 63. The Long Shot posted: 07.13.2013 - 11:29 pm Rate this comment: (2) (0) "Okay guys, lay off of cjs. His opinion(s) isn't totally illegitimate." Actually, they almost never are. I guess that whenever he actually says something controversial like that, everybody feels the need to point it out to him. I'm sure that most everybody on here looks up to cjs, seeing as how he knows so much about racing. I know I do, so cjs, if you read this, just know that all our jokes are made in jest. 64. 83andJoe posted: 07.13.2013 - 11:40 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) #27 sponsor: West Virginia Coal Association 65. joey2448 posted: 07.13.2013 - 11:42 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I'm glad that Michael Waltrip wasn't in the booth tonight (needed rest for our ears), but at the same time, I'm terrified to know that he's in England, representing the Unites States at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Paul posted: 07.14.2013 - 3:01 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) I managed to catch the final 140 laps of this race via the replay that aired on SPEED. I'm very happy that Timothy Peters won this race in what has been a pretty disappointing season for last year's championship runner-up. He's one of the nicest guys in the sport right now, and you probably won't see another driver today give a more grateful victory lane interview that Peters. As a result, he extends his Truck Series season-to-season winning streak to five seasons. I've been pretty high on Erik Jones ever since his impressive limited runs in ARCA last season, and I'm glad he was able to run up front in the Truck race tonight and show off what he can do in front of a broader audience. As much as Ty Dillon probably hated it, Jones was determined to get 2nd place from him, and that he did with a very aggressive pass and block on the final restart. I'm really excited for when he (literally) comes of age and is able to run a full Truck schedule in 2015, as he'll be one to keep an eye on for years to come. Ron Hornaday records his first top five finish since Daytona. Good to see the elder statesman of the Truck Series get a good finish for a fairly small team, and in a race that he basically described as a battle to find speed and handling all night in his post-race interview. The old champ's still got it. Dakoda Armstrong picks up his first top ten finish since Martinsville. He's done a pretty good job this season considering his equipment, and another bad finish or two from Bubba Wallace might just propel Armstrong into the top ten in points. Ross Chastain finished 13th after running most of the race with a sick engine. Not the finish he (or his teammate Ryan Blaney) deserved based on how well he was running, but it certainly could have been worse. Unless something goes horribly wrong or if someone suddenly gets hot over the next couple of months, I think Matt Crafton's got this championship in the bag. He's been the most consistent driver this season, never beats himself over the course of a race, and is more focused on the big picture than on simply leading and winning races. He's not gonna lose this championship, someone's gonna have to take it from him, and I just don't see that happening. Also, the #81 team is locked into the Truck race at Eldora via a tiebreaker over the #5 team for 20th place in the owner's points. I'll be pulling for the "Buckeye Bullet" Dave Blaney to get his 2nd NASCAR victory at Eldora, driving in a one-off for Brad Keselowski Racing. 74. It depends on which Wallace you are talking about when you say "Crash Wallace". If you are talking about Steven, then I think most people would agree with you. But if you are talking about Bubba, it's been pretty well established why most people hate how some are bagging on him for wrecking "all the time". 78. irony posted: 07.15.2013 - 2:11 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) All those years that I cheered against Sprague, Skinner, and Bodine; a race without any of them is not a Truck race.
