Hopefully, if he can't win the Truck championship this year, they bring him back and give him a chance because he has a serious chance at grabbing it. 2. I'll even take an Austin Dillon win since he's just filling in for an ill driver and because he's also driving for a lower-tier team. 6. The reason i do is because i think he will stop running trucks if he wins, so might as well get it over with, plus if he wins its better than Kyle Busch winning 7. joey2448 posted: 09.13.2013 - 8:48 pm Rate this comment: (2) (0) Good stuff on Twitter right now...Of all the days to pick Honest Abe to give the command, perhaps today wasn't the best. 8. murb posted: 09.13.2013 - 8:51 pm Rate this comment: (2) (0) No Michael, I'm sure Brad has NEVER heard the story of how you lost 462 races in a row before you finally won your first Cup race. Way to remind him that on the radio right before the race. I can't imagine that anyone would ever put "Michael Waltrip" and "Loser" in the same category. 9. Great racing throughout this race, though. Matt Crafton finishes 4th, extending his championship lead and extending his top 10 streak. It's looking more and more like he might finish in the top 10 in all 22 races this season. 29. Now, its apparent the #88 will out-duel or shadow the #31 for the last six races as Buescher can't gain many points if Crafton tailgates him in the remaining races. 36. Actually I think that's a real cool way to do it, celebrate American history and start a NASCAR race all at the same time. If Keselowski had another lap or two he could have caught Busch, what a finish. 42. rob posted: 09.14.2013 - 5:19 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) missed it. will there be a replay ? 43. It was a great race on 1 hand based on the kyle and brad show for the win. But its cup guys. on the other hand if brad n kyle werent there blaney would have won by about 4 seconds and it would have seemed like a boring race. 46. cjs3872 posted: 09.14.2013 - 10:54 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) Newt, the fact that John Wes Townley has so many finishes in the top dozen this year speaks of two things. First, he gained a lot of confidence after winning the ARCA race at Daytona. Say what you want about the ARCA series, but a win at Daytona, no matter the competition level or how it's accomplished, gives a driver a great deal of confidence. You need to look no further than James Buescher, the reigning Truck Series champion for a great example of this. He had never won in the Truck Series prior to being gift-wrapped the win in the Nationwide Series race at Daytona last year, but getting that win got him the confidence he needed, and the rest, as they say, is history. He won the Truck Series title last year. The second thing Townley's string of top 12s show is just how weak the Truck Series is, though he does run for one of the better teams on the circuit, Red Horse Racing. After all, German Quiroga nearly won at Pocono and Timothy Peters is good for 1-3 wins annually. But his sixth place finish in a race in which the top two finishers were Cup regulars, including last year's Cup champion, does show well for Townley. And speaking of the Cup regulars, it's good to hear that Joey Logano actually seems to know where his priorities should be, at least for this week, now that he's in the Chase. After all, he got out of the #19 truck, which he was originally slated to be in, so he could focus on the Chase. Sounds like something the driver he turned the truck over to, as well as Kyle Busch, should try to do. It might help their focus on the Cup Series. Kyle should get out of his #54 NNS car and have Gibbs put someone else in it so that Kyle can focus on the Chase. But then again, Kyle seems to be lost when he's not driving in seemingly every race, as was evident last year when he dramatically stepped back his efforts in the lower series, and missed the Chase. Since both Busch and Keselowski owned the vehicles they drove in this race, I have no problem with their participation, though I think Kyle needs to step back because he's in the Chase, but at least they weren't running for Cup teams in the Truck Series race as they do in the Nationwide Series. 47.
