At least BS1 stayed with their commitment for a legitimate reason (rain delay) and the Vegas showgirls were ready and trucks awaiting the command to fire engines on the frontstretch. BSPN didn't wait at all for the Nationwide race. 16. Schroeder51 posted: 09.28.2013 - 9:10 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) To me, the fact that the SPEED Channel was replaced with a BSPN clone really says how far NASCAR (and racing in general) has fallen in the general public's opinion. We've reached the point where UFC has become a more beloved and more important sport than auto racing. If you can't get enough of watching college football or UFC, this was a great move, but for racing fans like us, it's a shame to see how neglected the sport has become. By the way, the race so far is good; it's a shame that there are so few trucks out there though. 29 trucks at a track which used to attract 60 entries 15 years ago? Not a good sign. 17. Brad and Joey 4 races apiece Ryan Blaney 5, Dave Blaney Eldora, and maybe even put Montoya in for Canada and the rest to younger guys or girls who drive underfunded equipment and want to prove what they could do in decent equipment give 2 races to Johanna Long, 2 to Ryan Sieg, 2 to Jeremy Clements, and 1 to Sam Hornish, this is assuming the schedule is 22 races again (i hope its more) I would love thm to do it like this next year , the unproven drivers in the 29 truck are optional those are just the ones i would like to see, i find it weird i picked all chevy drivers though. 22. All this is cyclical. The general public is fickle and 'niche' sports and recreation compete for attention be it MMA, Auto Racing, UFC, etc. due to the more established and traditional ball and stick sports. There was a stink back in the 1990s when X Games premiered on ESPN by the denizens of the established sports media. 23. I think Ron Hornaday made a big mistake by choosing the outside lane for the final restart, especially since Peters was so strong on the inside of the race track. Johnny Sauter snuck his way up to a 2nd place finish. I can't recall him running in the top five all night, and he took advantage of Hornaday's bad restart to gain a few spots in the final two laps. Matt Crafton finishes 11th after leading with about 20 laps to go (He lost the handling on his truck.), so his top ten finishes streak comes to an end. However, his top-11 finishes streak remains intact. 61. He finishes 10th in that race, but he would have finished 12th had Ty Dillon and Mike Skeen not crashed in the final corner. With five races to go and 16 top ten finishes this season, Crafton still has an opportunity to record 20+ top ten finishes for the third time in his Truck Series career. The other two years were 2009 and 2010, and both of those seasons were back when the Truck Series ran 25 races, as opposed to the 22-race schedule that they currently use. 66. murb posted: 09.28.2013 - 11:09 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Didn't even realize this race was on until I was flipping through the channels and landed on Timothy doing burnouts. Also, a problem that ESPN runs into where it's NNS coverage is concerned, and NBC Sports Network is going to run into this problem, is the absurd length of college football games. Due in good part to the rule that requires at least one clock stoppage every four plays (the clock stops every time a first down is made in college football), as well as the high number of plays that are reviewed in each game, regulation college football games last 4 hours today and run over the time window by half and hour, and even more in the case of OT games. That's why the first half hour plus of today's NNS race was on ESPN Classic. the only other place thy could have aired the start of the race was ESPNNEWS, and ESPN Classic is a better place than ESPNNEWS is. NBC is going to be in far worse shape in this regard because they have no back-up channel when their NCAA games run absurdly long, which will result in no coverage at all of the start of a NNS race during college football season. And NBC will get those NNS races when the new TV contract begins, so it could be a total mess. At least ESPN has back-up channels in situations like this. 69. 18fan posted: 09.28.2013 - 11:48 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) "Restart Ron" got abused on the final restart by Peters.
