He has two Truck victories already and he's just one month removed from his 18th victory. This kid's going places if he can find a decent ride, and it looks like Kyle Busch is willing to give him one. Look for him full-time in Trucks next year, replacing Bubba Wallace, who has all but confirmed that he'll be in Nationwide next year. 75. Eric posted: 07.12.2014 - 1:17 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) I hope the 51 truck will stop cheating. I don't know why a crew chief would need to cheat with Kyle Busch and Erik Jones behind the wheel of that truck. I think we all agree that it is very tough to be Kyle Busch in the truck series the way it is without cheating. I mention Erik Jones because I think the kid was a great find by Kyle Busch based on what I see out of him in the truck series for someone this young. I can not predict how he will be in the cup series when the time comes, but he I expect him to be in the cup series by the end of the decade depending on his ride in the trucks and the Nationwide series. 76. Mannoroth posted: 07.12.2014 - 1:50 am Rate this comment: (0) (8) It's sabotage. Someone just doesn't like Kyle Busch Motorsport's success and try to get rid of it. Think people, KBM was dominating from its first year in 2010 and no post-race inspection issues were discovered. But in 2014, suddenly the 51 got 2 consecutive post-race inspection issues - is that normal? I don't think so - it looks like someone is just tired of the success of the 51, because it's very improbable, that the 51 must cheating, when that Truck won almost all races with Kyle Busch and without a problem in post-race inspection. 77. Could the Martinsville fall have been an unexpected motivator?" It's also possible that the team had saved up their money and bought an actual raceable truck or new engine rather than the junk they normally ran. I remember a couple years ago Ryan Sieg and his dad saved up enough to rent an RCR chassis and engine a week at Phoenix and got a top 6 finish out of it. If they were on equal equipment every week it might be fun to see what guys like Silas and Tyler Young or T.J. Bell are actually capable of doing. "What is the reason then? I know Kyle very long time and he's NOT a cheater! KBM had huge success without cheating, so why to start cheating?" Seriously? These trolls get better every year. KBM's been bending the rules for years and outright cheating plenty of times. If we're being honest, having a driver with a decade of full-time cup experience compete against a field of 18-20 year olds is about as close to cheating as you can get, first off. 81. It is very hard to a predict a driver in the Trucks or the Nationwide Series do in the cup series. I just call Erik Jones a great talent. I am saying that because there has been drivers like Casey Atwood, Brian Vickers and Martin Truex Jr. as examples of drivers that people thought were going to be the next great cup driver. Atwood turned out to be a bust because of how he was handled. Martin Truex Jr. and Brian Vickers turned out to be solid cup driver, but didn't they are not what you expected out of them based on what they did in the Busch Series before going to cup. On the other hand I don't think no one expected Jimmie Johnson, Tony Stewart, Denny Hamlin and Jeff Gordon to be as good as their cup careers are based on their Busch Series results before going to Cup. Stewart and Gordon were raw as drivers before going to cup and it showed in results despite Jeff having 5 Busch series wins in 1991 and 1992 combined. 84. Ah, the true sign of a fanboy: responding to criticism with "YOU'RE JUST JEALOUS BECAUSE THEY'RE SO MUCH BETTER THAN YOU!" I hate it when people resort to this; it shows that someone can not handle or accept criticism of something they love. Just because we don't do what the drivers do doesn't mean we can't criticize the things they do. If you really and truly think that Kyle Busch's team would never cheat under any circumstances (mind you, this is a sport where virtually every major team has attempted to cheat at some point) and that there is some kind of conspiracy against his team by a "hater"...I don't know what to say, other than you need to take your tin-foil hat off. 85. Face the facts about Johnson - when he has failed tech, 99.9999% of the time, it was pre-race or pre-practice. That's called a team finding the limits and making sure they're fine during the race. People think the 48 has NASCAR by the balls, but those people fail to acknowledge just how scrutinized that car is. Remember the year that they took the 48 to the impound center after *every single chase race*, which was simply unprecedented and hasn't happened since? Of course you don't. You can go look at the penalties on jayski and see whether his failures are primarily post-race or not, but I can save you the trouble: the vast majority of the time, it's NOT post-race. It's not even close to 50/50 It's like 80% away from that "5%" number. I ran the numbers at some point last year when I was feeling bored, and the 48 wasn't even close to the most common team to fail tech (especially post-race). There were 3 teams that have put that team to shame in a huge way. I mean... think about it. It's 2014 and you named 3 races, with the most recent being 9 years ago. What suprises me is how many regular and semi-regular trucks are sitting out this race. Is the dirt that taxing on equipment? Or do the teams need to have a special dirt truck to run these tracks effectively 101. luigistarted06 posted: 07.17.2014 - 8:09 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Actually, only 30 trucks make the race so it is a full field. And I'm wondering if the #6 truck is technically the #57, but just with a special number for this race only. I hope so, because Norm is locked into all the races unless of course he calls to attempt one in the #57 102. 02Justin10 posted: 07.17.2014 - 12:58 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) Joe Cobb will be in Jennifer's #0 at Eldora...so I'm guessing that will be updated at some point. Looks like a decent field is shaping up. Of course I don't think that the Dillons and/or Annett really need to be there. 103. Some where damaged badly beyond that. The novelty of the 1st race back on dirt is gone. 107. Uncle Andy posted: 07.17.2014 - 9:09 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) So Joe Cobb is coming back. He is a good dirt track racer but was a DNQ last year. That reminds me of the other driver besides Cobb that was in the field last year that tried getting away with running no front sway bar as Cobb did and got humiliated. I do not see him this year. Where have you gone Scott Bloomquist? 108. Nascar Lead Lap Points posted: 07.19.2014 - 12:38 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Owner of the #45 was Christopher Long 109.
