Hornaday is a good road racer and it probably would have been a good weekend for him. On a slightly related note it's a shame Mike Skeen wasn't able to enter this. He had a great run last year before some rough luck at the finish. 4. Field sizes have been extremely disappointing this season. I feel like this will be the true test for John Hunter to show his talent. If he does well here, on a road course, it will be interesting to see where he ends up next year. 10. Most of the smaller teams can barely afford to build one road course truck. A backup start and park truck would likely have to be race ready on paper and the marginal costs involved in building a second road course truck just to start and park it isn't cost effective. 14. Supposedly the team's hauler was already on its way to Canadian Tire Motorsports Park for this race when everything came apart. Hornaday would run just three more Truck series races near the end of the season with another team and have brief, mostly unsuccessful return to Sprint Cup early in the following season with a backmarker team before leaving NASCAR's higher ranks. 118. It would stand as his co-best career finish along with his runner-up at Gateway earlier in the year. This was the fifth 2nd place for the #77 in the truck series. (Three by Brendan Gaughan, two by Quiroga.) Giving it the current distinction of being the number to have the most second place finishes in the series without a victory. Only the #82 in Cup has the same amount of runner-ups without a win. 120.
