Tyler Reddick was the lucky one to catch the best draft and win the pole, his second career pole and second in three races (after doing so at Talladega). GO BLANEY!!! 2. Luckily the field is shallow, so he can get a good result and win those who don't actually watch the races. Mostly because non-existent mid-tier rides, but well done for Silas, a top 10 starting position, his first ever. 4. He is totally on par with Kyle Busch in equal equipment. He's gonna be an absolute beast as he moves up the Nascar ladder. That really sucks if this is Hornaday's last race. He was running damn good in that #30 truck all year, and then all that Turner bullshit happened. If he were to get in a legit ride (say for KBM or Thorsport), I think he could easily still win races and compete for titles in this series. Oh well. If this is the end, then at least he has a tremendous career to look back on (and at least he's going out in a year where he was competitive). Crafton with potential engine problems. Wow. That could get interesting. 13. RaceFanX posted: 10.31.2014 - 9:31 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Ron Hornaday blows a tire and German Quiroga may have engine trouble. The normally black #99 Chevrolet has morphed into a patriotic white scheme to promote the re-election campaign of Florida governor Rick Scott. This race is being run just four days before election day in the United States, it's Tuesday, November 4 this year, so it sort of makes sense (even if this race isn't in Florida). 18. After watching Sprague, Benson, Skinner, Musgrave, and Bodine fizzle out like they did, hell, I'd imagine Ron feels pretty damned lucky. On Bubba: I moved Ryan Blaney over Chase Elliott after he won Bristol (N'Wide) and Canada, and I think I can safely move Bubba over Chase now. That's not a knock on Chase by any means; it's just a reflection of how good those two have been. Yeah, they have really good equipment backing them, but Elliott had Hendrick backing during his (brief) time in Trucks, and Ryan and Darrell have been considerably better (or at least more competitive for wins) than Chase was. On Snoopy: if he can turn the doghouse into a Fokker triplane one show and a campus dorm the next, I have complete faith that he could go out and beat those KBM cars without any trouble. Sorry for the "racefangurl-esque" randomness of this post; I have no means of watching the race and am currently stationed at my computer trying to avoid the greedy-ass Trick-or-Treaters that are roaming the neighborhood. 22. epzik8 posted: 10.31.2014 - 10:00 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) It's the Kyle Busch show again. 23. Entering this race, I felt that three drivers, Darrell Wallace, Jr., Ryan Blaney, and Johnny Sauter all had a shot at catching Crafton, but with Wallace's blown engine and the myriad of problems that Sauter had, only Blaney now has a shot at catching Crafton, short of a blown engine or crash on Crafton's part, and even Blaney lost more ground to Crafton in this one. And if something happens to Blaney at Phoenix, Crafton could make even more history by becoming the first to clinch early in the 20-year history of the series. If Crafton leaves Phoenix with a 48+ point lead (it's 23 now), he clinches early, and if he leaves Phoenix with a 43+ point lead, all he'll have to do to wrap up the title is to start the finale, which is all he needed last year. The blown engine that Wallace had seems to have busted the balloon of this championship battle, because he was certainly putting the pressure to Crafton, and there's now a possibility, depending on how Chase Elliott does in the Nationwide race, that Phoenix could be a big weekend for early clinchings, as two titles could be clinched that weekend. 73. irony posted: 11.01.2014 - 2:27 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) Hornaday clinched at Phoenix in '09. 74. Regardless of teammates or not, pushing the truck directly in front of you on older tires wouldn't benefit Peters or help Quiroga win. Quiroga was done when the caution came out. Sucks he couldn't hang on to it and let the stratagy call go to waste though. 2. Sauter isn't going to nor should he lose his ride. At least as long as Mike Curb is still funding it. 3. Since the championship is just about wrapped up, I have my eye on 10th place. With Hornaday missing the final 2 races, it's a 4 way battle between Mason Mingus, Bryan Silas, Tyler Young, JWT, and possibly even Tyler Reddick. I'm rooting for Tyler Young. 75.
