Here it is Keselowski... Reddick might be good, but Chastain is still
lightyears better. Getting a 3rd place time with a WinTron truck is
insanely impressive, but not surprising knowing his talent.

Matt Crafton has to finish 21st or better tonight to win his second
straight championship, and he's had good finishes during most of this
year. But Ryan Blaney is starting higher than Crafton tonight. So we
can't give Crafton the championship yet, although I do think he has a
better chance than Blane.

Really hoping for Blaney to win, but I doubt he will. Crafton is just

You can't be serious. The 13 truck is a crapbox ride to begin with, and
at any rate Burton has shown more in his career than Chastain. Hell, Jeb
may very well have won the championship this year had Arrowhead not
pulled out of the sport.

I don't think they should be gotten *rid of* really, but there needs to
be a rule in place to limit the amount of lower series races they can
take part in.

Truckers can benefit from seeing how Cup guys handle their business and
I don't want to deprive them of that, but there comes a point (Kyle
Busch) where it becomes ridiculous.

I live in South Carolina, so nasty winters and blizzards aren't exactly
regular winter occurrences where I live. Though today was probably the
coldest day in a long time (the highs were in the upper 40s, and right
now outside, it's not too far above freezing)...Last winter was pretty
nasty, though!

Luckily it just came back on for me. But yeah, we get some pretty
obnoxious winters here in Idaho (though not nearly as cold as you guys
get). This year is supposed to be really heavy I think, in regards to snow.

What if the prize money cup guys was limited? If you lowered the prize
money cup guys got, there'd be much less incentive for cup guys to
bother trying lower series races. If they want to eat the race entry
fees and other costs associated with racing, then let them run the races
they want to run. Wouldn't keep them out of the lower series entirely,
but I imagine a lot of cup guys would run significantly fewer races that
way.

The reason Cup guys run in the lower series is because they all use the
same tires as the Cup cars, so when they do race in the Cup series they
have a better understanding of how the tires will handle. If they used a
different tire than the Cup cars then the information gained from the
tires during the NNS or Truck won't be as useful in the Cup race.

Maybe, but I'm still not sure if it would work that well.

I'm honestly over the whole "Cup guys are ruining the lower series"
thing. Yeah, it's still extremely annoying, but I think Nascar has made
it pretty clear that they don't plan on doing anything about it (in
fact, apparently next year we're going to see MORE Cup guys doing double
duty because the new changes to the Cup cars align with some of the
features of the NXS cars).

The only thing that I think would eliminate a lot of it is if they just
limited the amount of races they can run. But like I said, they're not
doing that. So I'm just living with it at this point. I guess if there
are any positives to it, it's that at least they aren't eligible for
lower series championships anymore, and at least for the time being have
a boatload of young guys (Chase, Blaney, Bubba, etc) who have all proven
that they are capable of running with and beating the Cup guys.

There was also the fall Nationwide race at Richmond last year where they
threw a caution late for a car getting CLOSE to the outside wall but
neverr actually hit it. That has to rank pretty high up there on the
list of "Dumb NASCAR cautions" as well.

so were REALLY a blast to watch!

Matt Crafton finishes in eighth place and becomes the first Truck driver

Actually, Crafton finished 9th-looks like he lost a spot right in the

Honestly, with this championship, I think Crafton is now in my Top Five
Truck Series drivers ever. He has the Iron Man record (he's been in
every race since the last race of the 2000 season), and now he's the
first ever back-to-back champion in series history. He doesn't have as
many wins as Hornaday/Sprague/Skinner/Bodine, but I think when you look
at his career he's been just as meaningful to this series as those guys
have.

And once again, hell of a job from Bubba. Great to see him win his last
race with KBM. REALLY hope he winds up in a JGR NXS car next year. He
clearly deserves it.

Another Toyota circle jerk season comes to a close. Congrats to the
modern day Mike Skinner/Ron Hornaday himself, Matt Crafton on winning
the title in his 832nd truck race. What an accomplishment to be proud of.

Lapped truck gave Wallace the win. This has been probably the worst year
in truck series history, with KBM winning 14 races. Hopefully next year
will be like 2012. Hopefully Blaney wins next year. Screw Busch and
Wallace, Jr.!!

Bubba had BETTER be in a JGR Xfinity Series car next year; it would be a

Man that finish is deserving of an applause. What a wild final 20 laps!
After Eldora, I think Homestead gets the nod as the closest thing to a
dirt track that NASCAR has...man those slidejobs were sick!

After 2 years of watching Bubba in the truck series i strongly wonder
whats his plans for next year i read an article earlier today saying KBM
was goin to 3 truck teams next year with Erik Jones and Justin Boston as
full time drivers and Kyle Busch and Daniel Suarez sharing the other
truck i really hope he Replaces Elliott Sadler in The #11 Xfinity ride
for JGR.

The only two guys I really root for are are Johnny Sauter and Ryan
Blaney. They never win because KBM won't stop freaking winning!!! What a
pathetic season for the trucks. Hopefully the next two races this
weekend are good. The only way they can be ruined are if Logano wins the
championship and if Busch wins the Nationwide series race.

Glad this race wasn't on ESPN...they would have put a MUCH bigger

No, the dude that wrote the Justin Boston article got that wrong. This
was Bubba's last race with KBM. HOPEFULLY that means he'll be moving up
to the #11 NXS car, but it's pretty cloudy at this point.

All I know is that JGR is completely incompetent if they are dumping
him. I realize that he doesn't have a sponsor like Suarez does, but he's
clearly gonna be a damn beast in this sport. When it's someone as
talented as him, I don't care, you make it work somehow.

Hopefully he winds up in a good situation though. Like I said on the
Phoenix page, it'll be a god damn shame if he ends up rolling around for
RAB Racing or something like that.

On a scale of 1-10 i rate the 2013 truck season a 6.5 because
competition was weak, chevy doesn't care about the truck series anymore,
ford barely exsist, Kyle Busch won to many races, Ron Hornaday unfairly
lost his ride, to many teams shut down, and to many short fields.

Man how does Bubba not have a full-time sponsor for next year. He seems
like a sponsors dream to me. He's young, charismatic, can drive the
wheels off anything, seems he has that Southern vibe that the old-school
NASCAR fans love, and he has the potential to bring in a ton of new fans.

Really hope he can get enough funding for the #11 full-time in the
Xfinity series.

Crafton's been around for a long LONG time. Yes this is second
championship, but he has over 300 starts and only 5 wins. I don't really
think those are hall numbers.

Also of the driver you named off i think Hornaday is the only one who
has a realistic shot at getting into the hall. Sprague is close but his
year at KHI (which basically ended his career) really hurts him, Skinner
while great in the trucks, probably won't get in do to his years in the
cup series for RCR, and Hamilton like Skinner was pretty good in the
trucks but had a number of years in the cup where his numbers where no
where near hall worthy.

A driver you didn't name off who i think could be in the conversation is
Todd Bodine. Yes he raced a number of years in the cup series but he
never had the equipment than Skinner and Hamilton had. 22 truck wins and
two championships along with 15 nationwide wins is much better than
Skinner Hamilton and Crafton and honestly i think you can make a case
that it's better than Sprague too.

wasn't blown away by him in the East Series, but he's proving that he

I met him last year when he came to Auburn's campus to promote Talladega
and I asked him this question. He says it was just something his
siblings used to call him growing up that and he acknowledged that he

I actually look at this a while ago and went up to the 2012 season and
he only would have gotten to 6 wins. Now throwing in 13 and 14 he
probably would have close to 15 wins, but yeah he wasn't really that
great till about a year or two ago.

Per Keselowski's Twitter, Tyler Reddick is doing a full season in the
#19 next year, so maybe the #29 will become the truck that gets split or
maybe both teams will be full time truck drivers.

Right, that's what I meant. Blaney will probably run a couple in their
second truck, like what Brad and Joey have done this year. I guess that
truck will use the #29 next year.

Well, if so, that's way better than a full time BK Racing Cup ride or
something. Hopefully "part time" doesn't mean "the two Iowa races and
nothing else" like we've seen before with some of these guys (actually,
if I had to guess, he'll probably run quite a few of them in the #20 car
when Kenseth isn't racing). But in any case, I have complete confidence
that he'll be able to come out and prove that he's no joke in that race
car. Hopefully he can pick up a win at one of the standalones and
eventually turn that into a bunch more races (kind of like what Blaney
has done by getting a couple of NNS wins before going full time).

You know it's a true shame that Darrell Wallace and Ryan Blaney have
nothing lined up, but it's also bad that German Quiroga doesn't have
anything lined up yet either, I love his win at all cost driving
mentality when he battles for the lead, he may not be the best driver
but he's entertaining and I felt he is on the verge of winning one.
