That's a far cry from the big-$$$ teams and sponsors dictating that they must compete (if you can call it competition) against and destroy the little fish week after week. Every one of the Cuppies that pollute a lower series costs a lesser team a chance, either when that team fails to qualify or -- more likely these days -- when that team doesn't even bother to show up at the track or disbands completely. Wouldn't it be better for them to use their superior cash and equipment to help develop young drivers and put them in the car/truck EVERY week, not just when Discount Tire or Monster Energy graciously decides to permit it? 73. That's just an excuse cup drivers use to legitimize them taking spots away from up-and-comming drivers" If you go back and look at the history of both the Truck and Xfinity series you would realize they were true development series like people make them out to be. Cup guys have raced in the both of those series since the very first race. Hell Dale Sr won the very first Xfinity race which was 2 years after he won his first Cup championship. Also if you really think the cup guys are taking away rides from younger drivers you're an idiot. If they don't race the sponsors won't go find a young up and coming driver to sponsor, they will just leave the sport. Having the Cup guys race 10-15 races in the lower series gives a chance for the younger driver to run the remaining races on the schedule. A chance they probably wouldn't get if the Cup guys weren't there. 81. There's always been back markers. Of course they're slower. NASCAR has changed so much in the last few years that you need a huge budget to keep up. They don't have that. They made the fields smaller because most races don't even bring the 32 trucks. It's all about money. A lot of people don't have it. 90. Matt Fink posted: 08.02.2015 - 10:04 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I wouldn't say it is a meaningless win for Kyle Busch, it is another win on his Truck Series career stats, I can't wait until he passes Hornaday, which is only a matter of time. Any win for a driver is cool, and if it wasn't fun for the drivers they wouldn't be racing. Maybe Truck and Xfinity regulars should step up their game to beat Cup drivers. That is the main problem, if Trucks are running wide open around 1.5 mile tracks, where are the Cup guys getting the advantage? There really is no advantage so I put it on the Truck and Xfinity drivers to get their car into winning position. 91. There are only 4 points racers (crafton Jones Reddick Sauter, maybe Hayley) actually capable of contending for wins, and only about 12 full-timers in halfway decent trucks period. Imagine if Buescher were driving for newberry's team. And if German Quiroga came back with Wauters like they were supposed to. Or if Theriault didn't lose his races to the Penske boys. And Brandon Jones' ride didn't get bought out by the cowboy hats. If Bryan Silas' team didn't shut down 3 races in.. You just imagined a much better truck series. Corporate NASCAR sucks. 92. BMan0213 posted: 08.03.2015 - 12:35 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) @91 First off, Brandon Jones ride didn't get bought out by the Dillons. Jones didn't turn 18 until the middle of February and therefor couldn't get approved to run Dayton and wasn't gonna be able to run the whole season. Besides the real reason why he wasn't at Pocono was because he was running the Xfinity race in Iowa later that night. Second Theriault isn't loosing races because of the other Penske drivers. The sponsors on his truck probably wouldn't be there if Brad and Joey didn't run races. Them running a handful of races is what allows Theriault to run the races he gets to do, which is more than the 0 he would get to run if they didn't. It does suck that there isn't a lot of depth in the truck right now, but the Cup guys running in it isn't the reason why there's not. 93.
