I will watch because I play fantasy games where I'm sorry but I need the cup drivers to perform in these lower series I have Kyle Busch I have Ryan Blaney and I have Brandon Jones has my three picks for this particular race So go all three But especially Kyle because I definitely need him to win. If I don't take these guys everyone else will and I'll lose out on big points. The fantasy game I play is called fmfl you may know it better if the Super7Sweep on Windtunnel. 15. joey2448 posted: 08.19.2015 - 6:40 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Seems like Ryan Blaney can't get away from Kyle Busch in recent weeks. Blaney got beat by Busch on the final lap of the Xfinity race at Indy, got beat by Busch in last weekend's Truck race at Michigan, and now gets beat to the pole by Busch at Bristol. Maybe Blaney can shut up those pessimistic "race fans" by beating Busch and winning tonight. The points battle might get interesting. Points leader Tyler Reddick qualified 19th tonight (!) while runner-up Matt Crafton (-8 points) will start sixth and third place Erik Jones (-9) will start fourth. 16. Nathan8848 posted: 08.19.2015 - 6:43 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) In recent years at Bristol, 1 driver has dominated the race. It seems like Busch has the best chance. Hopefully no Timothy Peters race happens today. 17. Ernest T. posted: 08.19.2015 - 6:45 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) It really has nothing to do with what's best for Kyle, as if we don't want him dominating minor league events simply because it may hurt his concentration at the Cup level and we're all so concerned about that. I hope he finishes 31st in the points and misses the chase, but the shitshow he puts on in the CWTS or NXS have no bearing on the that. It's about having races which are competitive (and not just battles for 15th place or whatever, I mean for the LEAD and the WIN) and not having races in which the outcome is a foregone conclusion hours before the green flag even waves. People show up at the track or tune in on TV in order to be entertained -- and they don't show up and tune out when the prospects for entertainment are dim. Check how full the stands aren't anymore, and how high the TV ratings aren't anymore. That doesn't explain why the Cup series is circling the drain and why fan interest is plummeting towards levels not seen since the 1980s if not earlier in that series, but Kyle, others like him and those who aid and abet them are putting these lower series to sleep. 18. Ernest T. posted: 08.19.2015 - 7:07 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Wonder if the current Bristol rain, with more on the way, might end up causing the truck race to be moved to tomorrow? And if so, would Kyle decide that helping ruin 2 races (trucks, Xfinity) in the same day is just too much excitement for him, and pull out of the truck race and put someone else in the truck? I hope so, and the classy thing to do (so don't hold your breath) would be to put Jordan Anderson in there since he's the one who put up the 28th fastest time in qualifying but got screwed since Kyle just HAD to race. 22. With three national series running at a half-mile bullring, there's simply not enough space to accommodate all the teams. Thursday acts as a day for Truck teams to leave and Xfinity and Cup teams to move in. 26. He never races in this series, and when he does something always seems to go wrong. He might have won if they stayed out. Hopefully he can get the results he deserves. I know I may have been somewhat hard on Busch in post #6, but the reason I feel that is that too many cup guys ruin the series for the drivers trying to make it to the big leagues and as a result their careers are startled or ended. It also makes a more interesting race when a new young guy wins instead of Busch, Logano, Keselowski, etc. because that's what the cup series is for. 122. As far as Blaney, I think he is totally Cup-ready. He exhibits all the poise and maturity of a Cup driver, and he proves his talent on the track by consistently running up front and contending for wins in Truck and Xfinity series races, like a Cup regular would do. Hopefully he lands a full time ride in Cup next year (hopefully in a third Penske car or Penske-allied car like the 21 Wood Bros.) 177.
