Like Bman said, this is racing and "stuff" happens. Look at the Xfinity race at Mid-Ohio a few weeks agoâ?¦ That said, I really hope he finally does win a NASCAR race, and this one would be extra sweet as it's in his home country. The top three in points (Reddick, Crafton and Jones) all start next to each other in 2-3-4. That will be fun to watch. Also, there is a possibility that Jennifer Jo Cobb will be fined due to her having her cell phone in her truck. After climbing out of her mangled vehicle following a crash into the tire barriers on Saturday, Cobb could be clearly seen reaching back into her truck and pulling out a cell phone, an act that was banned by NASCAR in 2012 after Brad Keselowski tweeted out photos from his car when it was stopped under a red flag in that year's Daytona 500. 9. Johnny Sauter's team just changed REAR tires only on a pit stop, the team jacking up the rear end of the truck only. I've never seen a team in a big three series do that before, that's more of a late model move. 24. NASCAR held off the caution until green flag pit stops cycled around. 25. Anonymous posted: 08.30.2015 - 2:20 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) It can be amusing how arbitrary NASCAR is with caution flags. If a car stopped on the track is so mundane that we can wait a minute or two (to allow favored drivers to pit?) before waving the yellow, then why wave it at all? Just like a few weeks ago when a tire was loose on pit road and just sat there for a long time, THEN once all pit stops were complete did a caution flag come out In today's case, since this is a road course, why not just use a local yellow and make the whole "arbitrariness" moot? It's always been clear that NASCAR can find debris, even non-existent debris, whenever it suits them. And they can also ignore obvious debris, again when it suits them. But stuff like this just makes the inconsistency painfully obvious to all. 26. 88&4Fan posted: 08.30.2015 - 2:20 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Hayley stays out. 27. Anonymous posted: 08.30.2015 - 2:22 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) In this case there's a car stopped in the middle of a corner (which would be a safety car even in F1), so the full course yellow is understandable. Closing the pit lane isn't necessary though. 28. 88&4Fan posted: 08.30.2015 - 2:22 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) WTF was that restart??? 29. Haha, MW, do you know ANYTHING about Tagliani at all? When he was last full-time in IndyCar, he was essentially the 40-year-old J.R. Hildebrand. He was an inconsistent klutz his entire career. Actually, Hildebrand makes fewer mistakes now. NASCAR drivers way overrate most of the road racers who enter their races, who usually aren't the best in their series. It would be nice to see Tagliani come back since he is one of Justin Wilson's former teammates, but I hardly expect it. 34. I think Jones will probably be the best Cup talent since Keselowski and Logano, but geez, dude... 117. I think everyone knows that, if they had gotten to the final turn, he woulda dumped Erik Jones in a heartbeat despite him saying in the post-race interview that he wouldn't wanna wreck guys that are battling for the championship. But he didn't make it to the final turn in second and I'm happy about that outcome. The fans would have been ecstatic if he had won but I highly doubt his win woulda been popular in the garage. 119. I remember watching him in his first CWTS race at Martinsville in 2013 and knew that he would be something special. He then won at Phoenix later in the year in an amazing race and it was at that point that I knew he had arrived. This kid is gonna be a great racer. He, Ryan Blaney and Chase Elliott are gonna be leading the next generation (Cole Custer won't be too far behind; I can totally see him taking Danica's spot at SHR in 2-3 years if she doesn't improve). The statement about Foyt, Gurney, Fittipaldi, etc was also hilarious haha 120. Sean posted: 08.30.2015 - 4:15 pm Rate this comment: (1) (2) Cole Custer will replace Tony Stewart. 121. He ran 12 races last year, I thought the limit was seven, and ten if you aren't running for points, but Jones was running for truck points last year. 128.
