They postponed the race right away this time instead of making us wait five hours just to see whether there would be a race or not they way they usually do. Hopefully this means that they'll be doing more of that in the future, but I doubt it. 11. JG24Ever posted: 09.18.2015 - 11:52 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) What Chicagoland really needs is to lose their second Xfinity date, and for their race weekend to go back to the mid-summer date they had prior to 2011. Maybe a complete restructure, where Sonoma goes to the second race, Atlanta to where Texas is now, and then changes happen from there would help? Unlikely to happen, but it'd be great to see. 12. Ever since they put the Cup race in mid September, they killed the fun at that track. That move they did is one of the reasons why me & my dad don't go to Chicagoland anymore. 13. A shame, because I do think John Hunter has quite a lot of potential to be successful in the upper ranks of NASCAR, and it's great to see him get his first win, even if it was through fuel mileage. Unfortunately, as much as I would like to see him be successful in Cup, I get the feeling he's going to be one of those drivers who just ultimately ends up getting lost in the shuffle. The Snowball Derby is the biggest late model race of the year. While occasionally a winner may pan out, some of the best Nascar drivers ever to come out of the south have won the event since it started in 1968, including John Hunter Nemechek, Erik Jones, Chase Elliott, Kyle Busch, Rich Bickle, Bobby Gill, Jeff Purvis, Rick Crawford, Ted Musgrave, Butch Miller, Jody Ridley, Dave Mader III, Darrell Waltrip, Donnie Allison, and Pete Hamilton. Not all of them made it to cup or had successful cup series careers, but all were great race car drivers and winning the Snowball Derby should be considered a feather in the cap of any drivers career. 107. It's one of the big late model races of the country, up there with the All American 400 at Nashville (which I think is a 300 lapper nowadays) and the Winchester 400. ...Almost included the Little 500 at Anderson on this list. That's a midget race. @106 Forgot Mike Alexander there. 108. Sponsor Updates posted: 09.21.2015 - 2:47 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) #30- Auto Value / Bumper to Bumper 109.
