I'm guessing he just got the itch to come back and his schedule lined up where he had some time to do so. Anyways I'm happy he's back even if it's just for one race. I always thought he didn't do to bad in the 60 car given how little experience he had in a stockcar. I mean lets be honest if you take away Ryan Reeds fluke win at Daytona, Travis was much better than Reed has been over at RFR lol. 14. Just this year Ryan Blaney said he didn't want Safer Barriers in the exact same spot Theriault hit because it would negatively effect how the cars exited the corner. now I'm not saying they should leave the walls the way they are, but they need to do something that won't take a good 3 feet of racing room away from the drivers. I think the best option would be to just knock the wall down and move it back a few feet so a SAFER Barrier doesn't take up track space, but that would probably cost much more money to do. 70. Darrell Waltrip was still in his prime then. DW was still with Junior Johnson and he would go to Hendrick Motorsports in 1988. I entered kindergarten in the fall of 1992, in the midst of Richard Petty's final year. In 1993, I watched my first race, the Daytona 500 and Dale Jarrett won the event, I watched racing more frequently after 1993. Dale Earnhardt was winning races and was the top dog then, obviously. When I was in Middle School, Jeff Gordon was still dominating everything and Dale Earnhardt passed away during the Daytona 500 in the spring of my final year in high school in 2001. Jeff Gordon wins the Daytona 500 in the spring of my senior year of high school. I was in community college when Jimmie Johnson won his five straight titles. On a lighter note, I don't really remember much of the 2000 season of NASCAR, all I remember is Dale Jarrett winning the Daytona 500 and Dale Earnhardt scoring an emotional victory for me as I lost my best friend, my uncle to a heart attack and Dale rose to the occasion the next day and won for my uncle who was a big Earnhardt fan. The rest of the season, I didn't really care about, I had a lot health problems that popped up and I really was not in the best of moods and I didn't watch much racing then. Then with my uncle dying and my focus was away from racing and on other things in 2000. Looking back on it, I hated 2000. 2001 was a much better year for me personally, but 9/11 happened and it was not a good year for the USA, but I had a great 2001, the health problems were under control and I just felt good about watching races again. 106. I would actually like to see him take another full-time crack at NASCAR; his then-Nationwide rookie season in 2013 was a pretty rough one but he had some good runs and I think he could have improved had he stuck around for another season. 107. Ralph shows excitement and we need the announcers to add a factor of excitement, no personality? give me a break. i'd rather have no personality over most of these guys who have way too much personality. Adam alexander is ok. But i think ralph is way better. Plus I like Ralph for the fact he's done more than just NASCAR i've seen him do Supercross and Monster Trucks and he's always a great voice to hear. 221. He's been around since waaaay back in the TNN ASA days, he knows his stuff, and he's enthuiastic for the sport. Now if anybody ever tries putting Ray Dunlap in the booth again they need to be drawn and quartered, because while Ray is great as a pit reporter, in the booth he always sounded like a chipmunk on Red Bull. 223. 23andJoe posted: 10.04.2015 - 3:41 am Rate this comment: (3) (0) Also: Yeah, Buckshot was decent in Busch. Don't know why, since I usually despise the rich kids and ride buyers, but I've always liked Townley, maybe because he was right at the very beginning of the current wave along with Menard. But congrats on the win, he deserved it after all these years. PS I'm also a 1990 baby. Unlike the earlier commenters I imagined everyone on this site being 40+, surprised so many people are under 25. 227. I actually like that there's younger posters on here. That means that they younger "kids" are showing an interest in this sport. And these young posters also have something to add when they post something as opposed to just being a troll as you would find in other comment sections 233. 1995 Subaru WRX STi posted: 10.04.2015 - 11:47 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) "Time to watch all the idiot fans burn the social media websites to the ground lol. I've enjoyed him for years doing SuperCross racing for FOX and I hope they will make him the truck announcer permanently. Adam Alexander is a bore...a clueless bore. 235. While you think he shouts, I think he is passionate about the sport and he's not over the top about it like some other announcers. And having no personality is usually better than having one, some announcers try too hard to do that and it just doesn't work. While Adam Alexander is good, I think Ralph's been excellent in all forms of broadcasting, and he's done across all levels of Motorsports. I think he is a great announcer. 236.
