Why should Austin Wayne self and Jordan Anderson go home when the drivers they beat who made the show are much worse, and driving absolute shitboxes. There's no reason the two terrible deckers should be in the race in their POS jjc and Harmon trucks when Jordan and Austin would actually be competitive in the race 6. I've been to races at four different tracks (Martinsville, Richmond, Bristol, and Dover) and Martinsville is by far the best fan experience. As for the race, even though Busch won, it was still a great race. I was so glad that the Jacques Clock never had to be used. A few notes: - Those Decker girls were painfully slow and just in the way. The one in the Harmon truck especially had a hard time staying out of the way, there was one time where a group of lead lap trucks got behind her and she let them all pass, but William Byron got stuck on the outside behind her and lost about ten spots. - There was a point in the race where I thought I might have gained telekinetic powers (okay not really) because about four different wrecks happened just as I looked over at them. The first Spencer Gallagher spin (where he almost got hit after he spun) as well as Kligermans spin were a few of them that I remember, as well as of course the last two wrecks. - There were some fans sitting in front of us (my dad and I) who were fully decked out in Kyle Busch gear and wow they were annoying. During that run when Busch came through the field on fresh tires they stood up and cheered every time he passed someone. They also cheered when Johnny Sauter hit the wall. Classy! Still, I guess its better than having to sit behind someone whose smoking. - I might have to eat some words regarding Ben Rhodes. He looked really impressive out there today. Also, this holds the fact that Kyle Busch has led the most laps in a race every year in the Truck series since he came along. "Backup truck" and "driver change" basically sums it up. Still, the Martins-Self deal kinda surprising to me today, but IDK what the official rules are on this. It brought back a memory from 2009 or so when the Nationwide series was at Kentucky. Stanton Barrett crashed the RWR #79 in qualifying but was fast enough to qualify for the race. The word was NASCAR would not let the team run the RWR car that DNQ'd as the "backup car" since it had already gone through inspection, gotten its certification #, and attempted to qualify. So they patched up the #79 the best they could briefly before the race and made an "attempt" to race. 185. Personally, I'd say Bell. Reddick is a lock to be in the title hunt, after we saw what he could do last year, but the switch to the 29 almost makes me think they've gifted Hemric their alpha ride, as Reddick hasn't been nearly as fast, on top of being INSANELY unlucky (see martinsville spring for 1000 examples). Still, he's a beast and that talent will definitely shine through. As for Custer and bell, both have shown flashes, but Custer has shown himself capable of competing on all track types. Bell, on the other hand, came in hot with an Eldora win, but has done little to legitimize himself since. I wouldn't be at all shocked to see a season reminiscent of Joey Coulter's KBM season out of Bell. The fact that these three top-notch rides are mired in the twenties in owner points after three races is just a testament to how far the truck series has come the past few years. It's awesome to see guys like JHN, Kligerman, Truex, Tyler Young, Brandon Brown, JWT, and Austin Wayne Self able to flourish without the benefit of a top factory ride. The CWTS future certainly looks bright. 188. murb posted: 04.03.2016 - 2:14 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) "Between Reddick, Custer, and Bell, all of whom had sky-high expectations for this season, which of the three do you feel is least likely to turn it around?" Then, Kyle Busch wins his 29th Truck Series race in his own equipment, which should be okay, but it isn't. Why? Because people have made another exemption, which says it's okay as long as it's not Kyle Busch, who wins all the time, in his own equipment by the way... then Dale Earnhardt Jr. wins 1 race in many years in his own equipment in Xfinity while running the same amount of races as Kyle Busch in Trucks and nobody cares it's still a Cup driver who won. 4 months later, William Byron simply outperformed everyone at Pocono and won his 5th race in his first season. Almost everyone is happy Kyle has such a good rookie in his team.
