Where I live we're on an all-time record (and counting) of consecutive days where it has rained at some point in the day. I think we're up to about 20 although it could be more. Surprised to see Cindric miss the race, was he really not in the top 27 in practice, or are there different rules for rainouts? 3. The #2 has only one start this year at Daytona. 5. Tyson posted: 05.13.2016 - 4:16 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Explanation I got from Chris Knight on twitter: I believe it's: top-27 owner points, then driver / owner winners / champions (if any), then owner attempts So if Cindric was in the top-27 in OP, he'd make the race, but since he wasn't, he missed. The #24 truck only has two attempts, but they make it since they're 20th in OP. On another note, the race title should be listed as the "JACOB Companies 200." 6. 02Justin10 posted: 05.13.2016 - 4:19 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I think in trucks the rulebook is that NASCAR: 1.) Takes the top 27 trucks in owner points, regardless, of the number of attempts (see #24 made it in easily.) 2.) Then Driver/Owner Winners from within the last year (#51 got in on that technicality.) 3.) Any Past Champions (would have been how #71 made it in if Bliss was driving, but instead got in on this season's owner attempts.) 4.) This season's owner attempts (went to #44, #71, #1, #10 and #66.) That's how I score it anyways. Norm Benning has now missed 8 of the last 9 NCWTS races. And with the #2, #30 and #28 entering next week, I don't see how Norm qualifies at Charlotte either. 7. 02Justin10 posted: 05.13.2016 - 4:21 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) *Sorry Tyson, your post posted while I was typing my explanation.* 8. He's not really exciting or anything, but he's at least kind of a straight shooter, which is nice. Out of the available talent they have at Fox, I think he's probably the best choice if you want to replace MW (other than Bodine, I guess they have Wally too now, but I think he's only part time with Fox anyway - and apparently he's getting back into some Trans Am racing stuff now too? - so he'd probably never commit to the full season). 86. I didn't make a single comment before now on this page because I stopped watching the series this year because of the stupid caution clock. The other thing is the truck series popularity going downing is caused by multiple factors. 1.) The Truck series had attendance issues last year even with cup regulars in the field. That means your claim of Cup drivers in a truck series race brings fans is completely false. 2.) The Truck series isn't the only NASCAR series that has attendance issues. That proves NASCAR as a whole has popularity issues for a while. 3.) You over player your hand in the truck series in terms of cup regulars. The Busch Series/Nationwide series/Xfinity Series has been more known as the series a good number cup series regulars race in. Kyle Busch is the only Busch wacker that raced more than half the truck series races in any season. What happens is the cup regulars don't race a lot in the series in a season. Kyle Busch and Harvick are the only cup drivers that raced more than 10 truck races in a season as Buschwhacker throughout the history of the truck series. 4.) The Truck series this year introduced the caution clock and that is something that cause fans to stop watching the series. . 92.
