Maybe some start-and-parks will top it up, but currently its the smallest entry list since Sears Point in October 1995, the first season of the Trucks. 3. JR-TV posted: 06.06.2017 - 9:18 am Rate this comment: (0) (1) Timothy Peters will be in the #99. It's amazing the fluctuation in entries in the truck series. There were 42 entries at Daytona and now it's down to 26. You would think it would be worth it to just enter and start & park. If someone had six trucks he could enter all six with different #s and they would all make the race. Hopefully someone will show up to get the field up a little more. That's why I think if they are going to have the charter system they need to extend it to Xfinity and trucks. The best part of the charter system is that with 36 charters we are guaranteed to have 36 cars in every race. They should have 32-34 Xfinity charters and 24-26 Truck charter so we know that we will at least have a decent size field for ever race in the top 3 series. Think about much better off Red Horse would have been if they had owned charters for the #7 and #17 teams. They could have sold one charter and used the money to fund the other team or sold both charters and pocket the money rather than just quit and have nothing to show for 13 years of hard work. 4. Ultimate Warrior #18 posted: 06.06.2017 - 1:24 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) The Truck series is in pretty bad shape get 2-3 start and parks wouldn't do the field any good. I don't think a charter would even work what small team has 1-3 million to throw at a charter if they can't even make a trip out west to Texas. Literally they will have to take a step back and convert this series to a east coast series with a mixture of majority short tracks and road courses and less 1.5 mile tracks it isn't doing the series any good. Since majority of the teams try to snatch up 16-17 year old rich kids anyways this route is gonna be a must in a couple years. 14. This race by itself is bad for the teams and I don't think we don't need another triple header weekend at Texas in the Spring. NASCAR really needs to take Harvick's advice and get the Truck's going back to more short tracks. Having this race at say South Boston would make way more sense IMO. Yes I know they don't have safer barriers there, but If NASCAR feels it's safe enough to run K&N there I don't see why the Trucks can't either. 24. Its not that we are asking for a last lap pass for the lead every race, or 20 yellows (which at most we get 15 at short tracks), its that we like good hard and close racing which you pretty much never get at 1.5 mile clean air tracks. 33. They still ran the Gen 4 at Texas in 2007. COT came to the intermediates in 2008. "Texas never use to be boring then all of a sudden like around 07 the races got terrible here." Don't really get this since to me it was always boring apart from a handful of races (Spring 2007, both 2010 races). All the late 90s and early 2000s races sucked (2004 was bailed out by the Sadler/Kahne finish but the race itself still was terrible). Consistently one of my least favorite tracks in all of racing, even pre-2007. However, I actually thought the Cup race this year on the new reconfiguration was one of the two best Texas races ever, so I'd like to think there will be some improvement from here on out. 37. Tyson posted: 06.07.2017 - 6:28 pm Rate this comment: (2) (0) @37 - Wow, you are incredibly ignorant if that's why you think fans want more short tracks and road courses. Fans want these types of tracks over 1.5s because they produce better racing. Racing on the 1.5s has gotten better over the past few years, but it still isn't good. You can't pass in dirty air. It's partially because of the cars, but also just because the field gets too strung out on a big track. I don't think anyone's advocating for getting rid of these tracks, but 1.5-mile tracks take up the majority of the schedule in all three series. It's just unnecessary. 39. Oh right at a 1.5 mile track! I'll take a short track race with 20 cautions but they're all 1-3 car spins and everyone continues and there's good racing any day over a boring single file snorefest at a 1.5 mile tack with only 5 cautions but one of them is a ten car pileup on a restart where someone is badly hurt. 40. That's the only time they don't automatically return to the previous scoring loops. FS1 replay showed the 29 slightly ahead of the 4 when the lights on the front stretch fence came on. But as the FS1 mentioned, there is the possibility of a delay between the actually calling of the caution and the lights coming on. That is information that we as home viewers don't have. There is no way for us to determine whether it was a bad call or not as we don't know at what exact moment that the caution was called. 107. ARCA rules clearly state that even if there is a caution after the white flag is waved, it means nothing. They clean the track up and when they go back to green, they wave the Green and White flags together. If they don't take the white flag, it is Green, White and checker...No race should ever finish under caution. 111. Scott25 posted: 06.09.2017 - 10:52 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Doesn't matter if it's delayed, every other finish like this (Jimmy Spencer at Daytona and Logano over Junior at Talladega as examples) were decided by when the lights come on and the flag is waving. That's how it works for TV. You can't decide who wins based by when the race director who you can't see or hear decides to call a caution. 112. The fence lights have a slight delay and that is how the confusion happened. 125. The fence lights are different than the official caution lights, but the official caution lights should've been shown in the photo. How are we really supposed to be convinced that the caution lights determined the winner when all we see is a time stamped photo? Name me an instance when the lead changed between the time the caution came out and lights came on. If anything we should blame FS1. There are the ones that were using the fence lights as the moment of caution. But those lights are only a TMS addition and in no way are considered official and are apparently on a delay. even Brad Keselowski, who owns the 29 truck has come out and said this. The fact that NASCAR has come out so soon after the race to provided evidence to back up there call means we should give them the benefit of the doubt. 136. Because those lights alert the drivers to a caution, if there's a wreck it's important they are on the same system as the NASCAR caution lights. Second, how many times can FS1 screw up? Recently, their graphics have been utter crap, the announcers don't even know who is driving what car, and they went off the non-official caution lights and basically told everyone that NASCAR was wrong. 138.
