Affarano was entered at Talladega last year, but withdrew due to the implementation of the mandatory bed flap that he didn't have, nor did he have the funds to put on. Brett Moffitt and the 16 team are, at least at the moment, looking like they will make it to Chicagoland. If worse comes worst, though, hopefully Brett can get a one off ride just to keep his championship hopes alive. Maybe Beaver Motorsports can put him in the 50, who at the time of this post is the only truck to not have a driver named. 2. #BowmanNation #TKNation #JRNation posted: 06.26.2018 - 9:35 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) DGR Crosley 3. I'd have no complaints. :V Though it would be nice to see him in a competitive car that could win and not just run a 'gap race'. Hopefully there will be no need to speculate and Shigeaki Hattori shows up. :P 4. It's tough to just show up and make the race on a shoestring budget, especially at a 1.5-mile track. However, if it's going to happen, the Truck Series is a place it could. 6. 02Justin10 posted: 06.27.2018 - 9:21 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) But remember that if Hattori Racing doesn't show up you then have just 32 trucks. Mike and the start and parks all have an easier weekend than the past couple weeks with stronger fields. 7. Moffitt had been stalking Nemechek as the laps dwindled, and was just a few tenths behind at the white flag, but dove to the inside in turn 1 to go by the empty #8 truck, who coasted to the checkers in seventh. Replays showed after the race that Nemechek's fuel man for some reason didn't get the second can of fuel to the pickup on the team's last stop. Moffitt, meanwhile, picks up his third win of 2018 and is a solid championship contender, but still needs sponsorship to last the rest of the way. The #16 team was able to put together something last minute this weekend, but it remains to be seen what will happen in two weeks at Kentucky. 41. It speaks to the current sponsorship climate when championship caliber truck teams, which need even less money than Cup teams, can't find funding. Makes me sad. Moffitt's won four truck races. What the hell more does he have to do deserve a fully-funded, full-time ride? 44. Strongly believe there's a bit more to the situation than they're letting on, I highly doubt they were in a position where they could afford to go out and win the race with 1 week's worth of sponsorship $$ but would not have been able to afford to even show up without it. They were either exaggerating and playing the sympathy card heavily to sell the race or they have horrific money management skills. Moffitt also said in a press conference on Thursday that they do have sponsors lined up the rest of the year, just with a handful of unsold races. Pretty sure he said Eldora, Bristol and Homestead were those that were unsold, but I can't find that press conference transcript/video at the moment. 53.
